A Role Playing Game

"Good point," said Fred, stroking his chin and pondering the dilemma. How strange that she wanted to be chained up here naked and exposed in this cavern. Then he had an idea.

"Listen Melissa," said Fred.

"Yes," said Melissa.

"What was it that you had said? This is all a BDSM roleplay?"

"Yes," said Melissa sounding bored.

"So its sort of like a pretend game?"

"Well sort of but it's more complicated than that. More like a deep seated, erotic urge to be prone and exposed. A stranger could just come along and ravage me at any moment." Melissa started to look flushed and wide-eyed. "With my hands chained, a complete stranger could just fondle my exposed nipples or finger my..."

"Yes, yes, but can't I just release your chains and then you can just roleplay that they are still intact. That way if worst comes to worst then you can still escape, whatever happens to me and the dragon."

"No because that defeats the objective. If I can just escape then I'm not trapped and that's just dull. Where's the danger? Where's the excitement?"

"But," said Fred, "Since I've offered to release you, aren't you are already pretending that you can't escape? You only have to say release me and I will. So you aren't really trapped, just roleplaying that you are."

"Oh," said Melissa, her head cocked slightly. "I hadn't thought of that."

"So I'll just break the chain, just enough so you can unhook it in an emergency and you can carry on roleplaying that you are helpless."

"Okay then," chirped Melissa.

Fred smashed the chain with his sword and:

1. everything went to plan
2. the chain was enchanted and activated a powerful spell
3. accidentally sliced straight through Melissa
