A Loud Noise

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 111824

Fred was awoken by a loud noise. On attempting to get up, and still half asleep, he found himself trapped under something heavy, warm and soft. As he attempted to push the weight off him, he heard a voice say: "Hey! There's no need to shove like that. I was about to get up anyway."

Now fully awake, Fred said: "I'm so sorry, M'lady. Do you hear that noise?"

"I could hardly help but hear it. It's enough to awaken the dead, and it certainly woke me. What on earth is it?"

"It sounds like...

  1. "The howling of wolves. And it's getting closer."
  2. "The wailing of banshees."
  3. "Singing, but like no singing I ever heard before."
  4. "It's coming from somewhere underground."
  5. "Nothing I've ever heard before."
