"Susan," he calls through the wood, "if I come out, will you promise not to touch me? Just have a conversation with me?"

"I don't know if I can manage that, Char-char," her voice responds, followed by a dreamy giggle. "I mean, have you seen you?"

"I need you to prove to me that you can conduct a rational conversation, Susan. We need to have a serious talk."

  1. Susan continues to avoid the issue and giggle inanely, and Charlie concludes that she is to some extent magically intoxicated.
  2. Susan finally promises to stand well away from him and just talk.
  3. Susan stops responding. When Charlie cracks open the door to peek outside, she's vanished.
