“I’d like to know the answers to those two questions myself,” the older man that Rei called the Brigadier adds, sounds MOST put off about all this chaos we seemed to have caused with our very presence. The Brigadier It is a fair set of questions, really. After all, being from UNIT I still feel a need to at least pass along this latest development. Even though Aslan might have made the danger of armed unknowns (one of which had the nerve to have pointed a modern submachine gun MY WAY) suddenly appearing within the midst of this base irrelevant with his powers . . . YES, I would just LOVE to know what the bloody HELL is going on here for not only my amusement but what to INCLUDE in my latest report which keeps on growing in volume seemingly without end whenever I interact with these people! Oh and for your information I am NOT mad at Rei and her group, per se. I am just rather PUT OFF by . . .the chaos that seem to keep cropping up around them! If a person cannot get exasperated with that, then I cannot honestly call them normal! I mean after all, they were showing signs of exasperation here about it so I’ll bloody merry well be exasperated as well! Their transmatting back here to base was interrupted and we’d feared the worst, especially poor Sarah Conner here! If it had not been for the presence of her daughter here (albeit in a much younger and somewhat altered state), then she would have been totally beside herself with anxiety and rage. As it was, she still was . . .very upset and leave at that. And they come back now, thanks to Aslan’s intervention, with the oddest of “friends” here. I mean REALLY, why and HOW do we have actual living, breathing PEOPLE here who look like they just stepped off the reels of a Japanese anime cartoon (and an adult one at that min-skirt thing with the suggestive collar/necklace Medusa is wearing). Ah, and I have other questions but which are (mostly) answered by none other than the youngest member of Rei’s merry band of chaos givers: Yin! Several moments later with the basics laid out. . . . Oh my word! Fair dues, she actually does give a rather concise and professional situation report: a “sitrep”. That and as it happens it seems to have an odd effect on those present. Some of them (the anime looking folks) seem to already be aware of MOST of it, but look somewhat disquieted by other parts of it: Rei’s plans on just possibly how to accomplish . . . her group’s Quest. Sarah looks like she’s more than a bit put out that yet another Quest has been laid upon her son, just after having gotten him back. But given the nature of just why and HOW it came about and how Princess Medea would have been in something of a lurch without some kind of aid except for some stranger she’d never met before if Rei and her friends had turned down Tutoring her for her Validation Quest… Well, family is family but friends in need are friends in NEED. It’s not in Rei’s (or her group’s) nature to ignore that. Myself? I . . .find though concise and professional Yin had been during her briefing I still felt like . . hugging her because she is just so . . .shy. . . . She is what they call in the Japanese anime/manga business a moea Japanese term used in connection with manga or anime to describe something precious, usually (but not always) the ideal of youthful and innocent femininity. Written with the kanji for "to bud or sprout" (?), the concept covers a range of ideal behaviour for youthful female characters in manga or anime--you see. As an aside in case you wonder why someone like myself should know about Japanese anime terms? You may recall that due to a odd twist of fate UNIT happened to finance a rather now successful and embarassing profitable anime called "Neon Genesis Evengelion". It comes with the territory, you know. As for Aslan? He has the most unexpected look on his noble features right now.
