Astra grabbed onto Sir Cuitous and he took off. But then Astra found her
grip slipping,
and she fell from a height of about ten feet. Luckily she landed right on
top of the giant
blancmange. Bits of
blancmange flew in all directions. Not only had it broken her fall, but
the impact had
killed it.
A rather messy Astra struggled from the remains, wiping blancmange out of her eyes. "Well," she said, "if we meet any more carnivorous blancmanges we'll know what to do." They headed down the far side of the ridge.
