Matters Of Invisibility

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 110276

"Good for you." said Lord Vetinari, somewhere near a small display of children's books that Rincewind had long suspected of being fatal to the touch. "I suspected you would take advantage of this unexpected lack of visibility to flee, as you are so skilled in it. I am pleased to see, oh yes, I said see, you have no moved."
Rincewind declined to say a word.
"Discretion, sometimes, the better part of valor. I have caused a message to go forth, via the tipping of a small metal ball. As we speak, your colleagues at the university are being notified that a magical emergency is happening in my office."
Despite himself, Rincewind voiced two words. "Oh, no."
Vetinari chuckled, in a far different location of the office. "Oh, I surely understand your reaction. Please do not fear. The small metal bar has caused more then just your colleagues to be notified. Indeed, among others, the witch known as Granny Weatherwax is being summoned."
"But not Nanny Ogg?"
"You do know your way around the magical movers and shakers. While I did not cause her to be summoned directly, Nanny Ogg is a direct consequence of asking Granny Weatherwax for help. You may sit down now."
There was a well appointed, teal chair, from the era of Mad Lord Snapcase, to Rincewind's right. It had not there minutes ago.

  1. Rincewind thanked Lord Vetinari and continued to stand.
  2. Rincewind thankfully sat.
  3. Granny Weatherwax arrived much, much earlier then thought.
  4. There was a fuzzy orangutan sitting in the chair. Rincewind smiled. It was his friend, the Librarian.
