The Never Ending Quest - Episode 109593

Fred looked at the river in bemusement. How could a river this large, fully thirty yards wide, not be marked on the map? The current was quite fast-flowing, and she knew that in her current body she had no chance of swimming across. She therefore had no choice but to walk along the bank until she found a bridge, a ferry or a ford, though in the middle of the forest the chances of finding any of those did not seem great. Oh well, if not then it wasn't as though she had had any destination firmly in mind. There was supposed to be a village not too far away, on the far side of the obstacle, but if she could find no way of crossing she would just have to find another village. And maybe the village that she had been heading for did not even exist, if her map was as unreliable as it seemed.

So she began walking along the riverbank.

  1. Before long she came to a wooden bridge, with a dirt path leading up to it on her side of the river and continuing on the far side.
  2. Eventually the light began to fade. She would have to spend another night in the wild.
  3. After a while she saw a lone tree bearing delicious-looking fruit.
