Remembering the saying of Magpie, "Where aggression does not work, kindness sometimes does," she decided to pet the hamster. Of course, Magpie didn't say anything about giant, forty-foot hamsters, but it was worth a try.

  1. The hamster eats Astra. What did you expect?
  2. Surprisingly, it works. The hamster becomes docile.
  3. The hamster is friendly. In fact, the hamster is sentient! The hamster tells them that he is really a teenage boy named Velus, turned into this form by Eldicire, the same evil wizard who turned Sir Cuitous into a skull. (That was one long option!)
