Zenobia's complete mental shift from human witch to dog had been caused by a combination of magic and biology. Now, Xanven was going to resume the magic aspect in full force, to counteract the biology that now dictated she should begin reverting back to a more human mindset.

  1. He placed a lasting spell on her that would maintain her dog-like intellect, and set her free. She wouldn't be bothering him anymore. And this would be infinitely amusing.
  2. He still kept her around as a pet.
  3. He wanted to experiment a little, turning her into various other animals and seeing how long she'd remain dog-like.
