The Never Ending Quest - Episode 107887

Of course Fre' eventually has to go back to partake of the flowers again. She lets her village know that she will be off on quite a long hunting trip, and she does indeed intend to bring some forest-meat back for her people. But her main reason is the flowers.

The journey is long, but undoubtedly worth it. This time she is able to intake more than before. She naps for several hours, wakes up, relieves herself, and continues eating.

The following morning when she rises, the world somehow seems... clearer. As she eats a flowery breakfast, gears turn in her mind. Sparks fly and connections are made that she never conceived of before. New ideas for more efficient ways to run the village or solve the problems presented by winter or clear obstructions in more precise and safe ways constantly occur to her.

Suddenly she spits out a mouthful of flowers and stares at the broken, soggy petals. "These things are increasing my intelligence!" she says aloud, enunciated with perfect clarity.

Fre'...

  1. returns to Ak' immediately, bringing with her enough of the flowers for the whole village to try just a little, and prepared to tell everyone of their effects.
  2. stays for a bit longer to formulate plans, take a few notes, and catch some forest-meat like she intended, but ultimately returns to Ak' flowerless with the plan to enact some of her ideas but not create suspicion.
  3. realizes that normal ogres are too stupid for her now, but returns to Ak' at night to retrieve Belba, her best friend, and give her some flowers so they can look for a better life together.
  4. realizes that normal ogres are too stupid for her now, and begins to build herself a new home near the grove.
