With Astra safely behind him, Fred coils himself up as much as he can next to the rocky obstruction. While a long serpentine neck is great for peering around corners, a neck that's longer than his forelegs means that Fred has to contort his body to get his claws into position. He uses his hindclaws and his tail to brace himself against the rock, and with audible effort pushes the rock pile over to fill the path ahead with a low level of debris.
Astra waits in the pitch dark for a few minutes while Fred shoves the worst of the rubble against the walls to clear a narrow path for his companion. "Hmmmm? What's this?" "What did you find?" "Some kind of arm brace, I think. I... Sorry," he says as he remembers to whisper, "I think whatever it is, it's probably enchanted. It's giving me a tingling feeling." "Do you think it could be related to the cave in?" Fred shakes his head, even though there's no way for Astra to see the gesture. "I have no idea. Once we get past this garbage come back up here and take a look."
