In the Land of MalBoncton

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10777

Once, long ago, an ancient civilization had dwelt in what is now known as MalBoncton. Then, it had been simply been known as Boncton, and it was the most powerful nation in the region. The Bonctonites worshiped Ysazmo, the Serpent God, who was made up of three parts; the blue snake, the green snake, and the red snake. Over the years sects began to form around each snake. Division began to form as well in the core of the civilization and a bloody civil war ensued.

In the aftermath of the long war, three tribes were formed in what was now know as MalBoncton.

The Green Snake Tribe inhabbited the southern, forested region of the land. they were the most primitive, reverting back to hunting and foraging and even human sacrifice. They were also the most afflicted with Aqualarian slave seeking raids.

The Red Snake Tribe inhabited the western region of MalBoncton. It was a dry region covered in savanah and rocky hills and volcanos. The Elementals at times would afflict this land, but only every hundred years or so. Very recently, the power structure had changed within the Red Snake Tribe, two "gods" had decended from the sky one night and had began to stir the people up for a bloody Holy War that must take place. The name of the "gods"? Myrddin L'Ami and Zerm the Second. In truth, MalBoncton was a last resort for the two sorcerers. In the past, they visited the Tribe once every few months or so to keep their influence alive while they worked from their hidden location far to the south in Aqualaria. They promised that the time for the Holy War would be near, but that the warriors of the tribe must prepare until then. Until recently, the jungles of Aqualaria would have been much safer, but things had changed with the arrival of the man and the stone.

The Blue Snake Clan inhabited the northern region of the realm, in the foothills of the Shrekken mountains. It was here that the mighty River Ethans formed. Infact, the land was actually a remote colony of the Kingdom, being the only Tribe to still have a respectable city standing. It had been rebuilt by the Kingdom, and renamed to New Suffex. There were stationed only a few hundred soldiers in the colony, which was ruled by the respected Govenor Qrom. Recently, refugees from the Green Snake tribe had began to pour into the realm. The uneasy "alliance" between the Kingdom and Aqualaria was begining to be strained as some of the raids had began to reach into colony territory.
"At times like these the divining pool would be most useful! But I must get over it. A pity that I must waste my valuable energy doing what the pool would do so easily." Myrddin paced the room, set high in a tower in the realm of Red Snake tribe. They had made it succesfully, eluding the Shedayphin many days ago. "Zerm, why aren't you speaking?"

"You just never learn do you!?" Zerm scowled in reply. "I'm not talking to you!"

"Zounds, Zerm! You can't still be upset over me calling you junior? I have given you my most humble apology, but that was one hour ago and we have more pressing business at hand then arguing over pety things like this. Do you want the Malabra? Well? Do you!?"

Zerm frowned. "I think you did it on purpose! You did, didn't you!?"

Myrddin's reply was simply a cold gaze. He changed the subject. "I still sense division within the Atha'den. The man is a mixed blessing to them, and most definantly a thorn in their side. I wonder who he is that he could touch the stone and not die? But nevermind that, we must attack soon. The army is ready, more ready than ever. 6,000 strong, it is! The only thing that delays us is the arrival of the dragon priests. They should have been here three days ago..." His attention was suddenly turned to the window.

The Mountain of Fire, which had been dorment for 300 years, had suddenly began to pour out smoke like an angry dragon. "The Elementals are disturbed!" Zerm exclaimed, running to the corner and ducking. "This is no good!"
