Why Is That Date So Familiar?

Josh had a feeling that he should recognise that date, and that something very significant had begun then. But he could not put his finger on what it might be.

Whilst he was sure - wasn't he? - that it could not be a real time machine, it was still frustrating not to have the key that would allow him to nove the levers.

  1. Then he spotted a key on top of the bookcase (which was only about five feet high).
  2. He sighed, and decided to return to his book.
  3. He was startled by a voice from the doorway behind him: "Good afternoon, sir. I see that you have found my machine."
