Magical Chests and Devil Punchers

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 106878

Fred held onto the chest, feigning the strength to carry it with a smile. His arms were aching: the chest was heavy. As Rikotyuki finally appeared around the corner, Fred set down the chest and had Rikotyuki open the magical seal. Once that was done, they opened the chest.

The chest! It was filled to the brim with beautiful shining objects, gems, coins and strange weapons and tools. It was evidently deeper on the inside than it appeared on the outside. Fred examined its contents with amazement, and he exchanged his sword for one that seemed to shimmer with subtle flame-like energy.

Rikotyuki spoke. "As you can see, I have been quite busy these many years. Stealing from a Dragon is no easy task. But he's not the worst thing down here. I have seen creatures and even humans more terrible than the mighty Minestus, lurking around in their dark caverns and sealed-off rooms. The mighty Frost-Warden, for instance, is located in a deep dungeon south-east of here, and quite a ways further down. The entrance to his cavern is clouded in confusion and merely entering can be like navigating a maze. But there are also easy pickings, too. The Devil Punchers, a gang that controls one of the passages, is one of the best underground "terrors" to steal from. I set up a fake deal with them to bring them provisions in exchange for a bit of treasure; but I always manage to take more than I bring in, and they always accuse each other of stealing from the gang. If you want, we can go there now and see what we can find?" Fred liked the idea, but...

  1. he changed the subject and asked Rikotyuki about leaving the caves.
  2. he was curious as to what the Devil Puncher's lair looked like, and he wanted some more allies, too.
