Awkward!

But Astra and Mr. M were... occupied. This was super awkward.

"Get out!" Astra screamed. Mr. M - at the moment as naked as Astra - disentangled himself from her and got menacingly to his feet. Minestus thought that he had seen bears that had less in the way of muscles.

Now that Mr. M was no longer blocking his view, he had a clear view of Astra, and what he saw made him boggle. She was heavily pregnant! Now Mr. M might be a very virile man, but even he couldn't make a woman eight months pregnant in the space of an hour.

"Please don't kill Minestus," Astra told Mr. M. "But if you want to give him a few bruises that would be fine."

"Wait!" Minestus said, holding up his hand. "There's been another time-shift. Look at yourself, Astra. You weren't pregnant an hour ago." (Also she seems stone-cold sober, he thought, and with no evidence of a hangover.)

1. "Don't be silly. Of course I was. We've been staying at the inn for almost nine months now, and Mr. M and I have been lovers throughout that time."

3. "By the Goddess, you're right!"
4. Mr. M has almost reached Minestus by now. He has to use his magic to defend himself.
5. Meanwhile, in a dark corner of the Enterprising Inn, Will kneels before an obsidian obelisk radiating a crimson light. "It is as you said, my master," he says in a sepulchral tone. Uh-oh.
