There is a Reason

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 104875

"How does my being a small girl help in any way?" the young newly-female Fred cried in outrage.

  1. "A dragon--not the dragon which you came here to slay, but another of lesser fame and smaller stature--has some very rare items in his hoard which I need. His price for the lot of them was a young girl. I wish I didn't have to do this."
  2. "You must negotiate with faerie folk to acquire a few of the ingredients. They are much more likely to cooperate with a seemingly innocent young girl than an old wizard like me."
  3. "There is something you must steal from a nearby tribe of Amazon warriors. Naturally, they wouldn't take you as a man, or even as a woman unless you were very strong, but even then they are prone to mistrust strangers. They ought to take pity on you now."
  4. "Several types of magical herbs necessary for the spell grow in one section of forest where only children are allowed to enter. True, I could have made you a young boy, but the sprites residing there are naturally more trusting of girls."
  5. "I am not proud of this, but a wizard associate of mine owns an artifact that I will need to steal for the spell. His young daughter is having a large birthday party this evening. You will be my excuse for being in his home."
  6. "Well you see, step one of the stage in which you are now involved was to turn a brave knight into a six-year-old girl. The steps appear very random, but in fact together they create a specific aura that I will need to complete the other stages."
  7. "I am afraid the sacrifice this spell necessitates is greater even than your changed form: you must become as innocent, sweet, and pure as you appear to be."
