He puts down the ladle he's holding. "Look, lady—"

"Diana."

"Right, sorry, Diana—you're not supposed to be back here. And... who are you, anyway? Why did you kiss me?"

"Because I love you. I loved you the instant I saw you."

He frowns. "I don't believe in love at first sight."

"I didn't either, but I know now that it is real; it's happened to me."

He looks uncertain. Diana continues...
