In Which Cordana Loses a Battle Against Nature

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 103759

After a long evening of hunting, Cordana is napping on her favourite balcony (there are many) while Zenobia sleeps in her soundproof bedroom. The storm strikes suddenly and gets violent quickly, and Cordana is already soaking wet by the time she's awake enough to stand. Her paws slip on the smooth marble floor, and she scrabbles for a foothold, only to find none. She goes over the edge at the open area of the balcony.

The hound yowls in fear on the way down. The balcony is not the one outside the Green Room, but it's on the same side of the castle and therefore overlooks the same river. It's fortunate that the fall is not terribly far, and she knows how to swim, but the current is quite strong in this part and it's a struggle just to stay afloat.

Zenobia has given her many unique abilities to aid her in hunting—boosted strength and speed, a hyper-powerful sense of smell, barbed claws, and flight. However, her powers of flight are taken away when they are not actually hunting, so as not to aid her in running away.

She yowls again, continuing to battle the current, and failing...

  1. Cordana manages to get back on the bank within one mile of the castle, but she is exhausted and shivering, so she falls asleep then and there.
  2. Cordana is swept far, far away from the castle, and doesn't manage to get out of the water until it has gotten calmer.
  3. Cordana hits her head but then gets caught on a rock, held above water, and is rescued by a young boy.
