"But how? There was no way that we could escape death when we went over the falls. If we weren't dashed to pieces on the rocks, we were sure to drown."

"I told you that something had happened to me that had changed me. This was before I met you. You may remember that I told you earlier on that, after escaping from the dragon, I had hidden in the caves for many days.[16132] Did you not wonder how I had managed to survive for so long in such a dangerous place, the home of trolls and witches and many other horrors?"
