What to do?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10329

"Incredible!" said Bashir. "This...this entity inhabiting the Captain's body...he is nothing less than a chivalric knight!"

"I'm not so sure," said Dax as the holographic wind whistled through her long hair. "He spoke of a mad king -- what was his name?"

"Emry Exultaine," answered T'Sok.

"And a legion of soldiers riding into their own death at the hand of some dragon -- what was it's name?"

"The Dreadful Dragon of the Southern Caves," answered T'Sok.

"Well," said Bashir thoughtfully, "atleast this knight chose to seek the wise advice of the sages on the...the...what did he call it?"

"The Floating Isles of Nelon," answered T'Sok.

"But what do we do now?" said Bashir and Dax simultaneoulsy.

"I think that the logical course is to contact a higher being, one that would be able to reach Captain Sisko. My Vulcan ability at the mindmeld is not sufficient, but there is one...but the risk is great..."

"Chuck the risk!" said Bashir rather forcefully. "This is Captain Sisko we're talking about!"

"What higher being do you have in mind?" asked Dax.

"Q," ansered T'Sok.

"Oh," said Dax and Bashir together, and with some trepidation.

But arrangements were made and Captain Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise was contacted and the situation explained.

"And where is the good Captain now?" asked Picard as he spoke from his readyroom.

Dax answered, "He is currently experiencing medical therapy, within a holosuite more suitable to the alien being inhabiting his body."

"And what would that be?" asked Picard.

"A windswept rocky plain on the outskirts of a village," answered Dax.

"Oh," said Picard.

  1. Captain Picard agrees to contact Q
