"No," said Sir Adrian adamantly. "You're rather young to be going on such quests, and you have responsibilities at home."

"I'm eighteen," said Andrea. "I'm practically a woman already. And you're not much older than I am."

"That's true," Adrian reluctantly agreed. "But I don't think you could be of much help."

"You're wrong," said Andrea. "I'm very good with weapons, and I'm very resourceful, as you should know by experience. If I hadn't been, you would be dead."

"True," said Adrian reluctantly. "But I still don't think you can handle yourself." But he knew he was fighting a losing battle.

"I can handle myself perfectly well," said Andrea. "You, on the other hand, weren't able to handle yourself all that well."

Adrian sighed. "Alright, you win." It looked as if he would have to take this impetuous new arrival along with him after all. "Just be careful."

"Be careful yourself," said Andrea.
