Vague Hopes and Moral Duties

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 10105

As unhappy as they were about the situation, Stacy and Julie realized they could never live with themselves if something happened to Falk and his people because they'd refused to cooperate. (They tried not to think about the possibility that Zimmermann might just kill them all anyway.) Stacy scribbled a hurried note explaining the situation and left it in a prominent place in the hotel room. "If we're lucky," she said, "someone will come to check on us -- maybe when they try to call and realize we're not answering. If they find it soon enough, maybe there's a hope we'll be rescued before they make it out of the country."

Julie agreed. "I think there's a good chance, actually," she said. "After all, the police have one of the transponders. They'll know the frequency, so they should be able to track yours!"

"Let's just hope Zimmermann doesn't think of that," said Stacy, without much conviction. And they made their way down to the parking lot.

  1. The first thing they saw was Falk. Then they saw Zimmermann, holding a gun in his back.
  2. Zimmermann was standing there, smiling pleasantly and holding a car door open for them.
  3. They were suddenly grabbed from behind and blindfolds pulled over their heads.
