"I can understand that you are upset by the negation of forty-two years of work, Wizard Wilhelm," she said, "but it was your own fault for leaving your Wishing Potion lying around on the beach for anyone to find. You have no cause to threaten this gentleman - I don't think you told me your name, good sir - with forty-two years of slavery. Now I should like you to swear an oath that you will not try to harm or coerce this gentleman in any way. If you will do so, then I shall release you."

Wilhelm:

  1. Swore that he would not harm Fred, so Astra released him.
  2. Swore that he would not harm Fred, so Astra released him. But he had not sworn that he would not harm Astra herself, and he now bore a grudge against her.
  3. Said: "You're bluffing. You wouldn't use that dagger to harm an unarmed man."
  4. Transformed Astra's dagger into a bunch of flowers.
