The group due to set out for Minestus's lair initially contains Probe,
Evis 7, Li'reth, Ke'lan,
Astra 1-8, 8a, 10-12, Fred 1-8, 10-12, Kethiani and Feir-dalan,
Demifox Synizn, Synizn, Synizn 2, Sigin and Tarin Gazin. The Freds and
Astras all have
a personal score to settle with Minestus, of course, even if this Minestus
is only an analog of "their" Minestus
for most of them. Tarin is in the group because his dwarven underground
expertise
may be useful. The Synizns go wherever
"their" respective Freds and Astras go, of course. The others are chosen
to provide an appropriate mix of muscle and magic, bearing in mind that
the mages available are limited
because the dragons will be needed to go with the group seeking the dragon
council. Queen Astra would
have liked to go with the Minestus group, but has been persuaded that her
presence will add gravitas to the party going
to see King Emry.
Probe does a quick head count, and is a little alarmed to find that there are 34 in the group. That seems rather unwieldy for an operation of this nature. After much discussion, Astras 7-8 and 10-12 and their corresponding Freds, together with Astra 8a and Kethiani and Feir-dalan, are persuaded to stay behind. That reduces the number to a slightly more manageable 21. Some of the dragons transport the party and their supplies to the location of the twin cave mouths, familiar to many in the party, before returning for further ferrying duties with the Doctors' group and/or joining the dragon council seekers' group.
