Overall idea of an epic..... (part 1)

Note: The "epic" storyline is, in many parts, fanfiction. A tribute to various authors and stories written by others. As such, I will give credit where credit is due....

What's going on here, really?

Well, "big picture" wise is that there was basically is a plot to gain the upper hand in a never ending conflict between what could be termed the forces of evil (call them either "The Army of Darkness" or the "Office of Evil") and the forces of good (call them either "The Army of Light" or the "Office of Good"). Two groups of Celestrials, let's call them....

Now I use the terms "good" and "evil" to describe two opposing paradigms that are a basic force within all of creation. The definition of each varies widely throughout the multi-verse, but the vast majority appears to be concentrated around the human (or human like) concept of "good" and "evil." This is a dubious honor at best, since that could well mean that the human mindset is the largest "problem child" of the multi-verse, and as such needs the most attention. Thus it could be leading to a concentration in the Higher Power(s) on this concept.

That aside, the forces of evil had finally fell upon what they deemed as a sure fire plan to gain the upper hand over their opponents by messing with the very underpinnings of all of creation itself. It dealt with the adulteration of the Beams that radiated out from the Dark Tower (the center/lynchpin of all realities told in Stephen King's The Dark Tower series). The exact nature of the adulteration (as well as the exact nature of the Beams and the Dark Tower) is unknown, but it and other meddling caused events and such on many worlds to slide in favor of the Army of Darkness. Now, the Army of Light might have done its own adulteration to the Beams, but the net effect is that the Army of Darkness is having more luck at it than their opponents. Now, the problem here is that this was trespassing into the demesne of another's responsibility. See, in all of the multi-verse, there are four organizations in charge of the four basic Powers that keeps it all together. The Army of Light was in charge of "good" and things related to that. The Army of Darkness was in charge of "evil" and things related to that. Then there are the Offices in charge of the "impersonal" matters of the multi-verse...things that would not deal with morality. These two Offices were the Office of Order (basically the maintaining of continuation of a system...from as small as a virus to as large as a universe) and the Office of Chaos (entropy).

Originally, the members of these Offices (another type of Celestrial) were not with what one could call "free will". They were powerful, but they were only able to operate within strictly set parameters; they were mere Drones. As such, the other Organizations thought nothing of their infringements into these Offices' territory (which the maintenance of the Dark Tower and the Beam fell under). However, the situation had grown so bad that the Powers that Be who are in charge of these Celestrials (i.e. created and maintain the Celestrials) deemed it fit to give a certain percentage of these Drone Celestrials (Rules of the Office of Order and Agents of the Office of Chaos) with free will in order to put things to right. And so, these newly Enhanced Celestrials went about doing just that. That involved a lot of investigation (for at first they didn't know just how the Beams were being altered and exactly Who were doing). They had to be careful, because these newly Enhanced Celestrials were going to do everything by the book and not infringe into the Other's realm of responsibility (they were not going to do onto others what had been done to them). Oh, there were ways of doing deeds that were good, but they did it through ways allowed by Strictures. Finally, however, they caught a break and saw something that broke the case. It was when they actually saw a book by a human named Stephen King called The Gunslinger

That said, it was decided around that time a new step was needed, and that involved Champions....
