Fulfilling a debt of honor, en passant

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 59232

"Oh . . . what hit me?" the one tailed kitsune female mutters.

The short answer to that question (though nobody was there YET to answer her) was that the Crystallic teleported her away along with the other rather hostile kitsune who’d been harassing Synizn. Good thing, considering that IF the Atlantian artifact had left her behind instead of Synizn taking charge of HER, she’d have carried out her mistress’ last wishes and terminate (with extreme prejudice if I may add) the female demifox!!

This young (and still to be named) kitsune female is VERY much under the sway of Lady Akira! All had to do with the number of tails that she had compared to the new female, you see. And that said, that explains exactly why when a firm male voice says “halt” and she sees the speaker . . .

Even IF the speaker in question is a bit on the vaporous side (i.e. in spirit form as what you'd usually find back her in this realm), the speaker HAS some solid influence (shall we say).

. . .

Not like we need the clay vessel called the physical body to be obey here. Not THIS girl!!

She halts! Even Lady Akira, in all her haughty arrogance, would think twice before offering offense to THIS chap, considering that this male fox before our young kitsune female has six tails to her one (and Lady Akira's two). It is a rank thing, if nothing else... AND Ikira did not figure into the equation that she would be knocked cold before a more thorough spellcasting could be done to our young girl, alas.

"What brings you here to my domain without leave?" the male says softly.

The male kitsune then pauses. There is something oddly . . . familiar about this female. No, it is not that he’s looking for a mate (sexual playmate or any other kind). Rather . . .

Long ago when he was . . . something neither this nor that he got swept up into something not of his making. Back in the day that he had thought that at least half his heritage was belonging to a race known as "demon" . . . until something more worthy of that name came along (re: 35060).

Much as he now enjoys being a FULL blooded "spirit" (if perhaps not the kind of "spirit" . . . or what he'd have called a "demon" before RF), he'd not exactly expected (or wished to BE) a . . . kitsune at the time.

That said....

Back then he'd gone by the name of Inuyasha and still to this day (much to the chargrin of his fellow kitsune) continues with that moniker. Just that . . .

So long ago when that one odd group first rescued HIM from that . . . place and THEN returned his mate and now wife to him . . . He never really got a chance to actually properly thank them (much less rebalance the issue).

They (or some friends of those people . . . even Kagome was not sure, so chaotic was the rescue from that death maze) had gone onto save . . .Kagome.

. . .

An this young kitsune before him has the sent (magical and otherwise) of someone at least . . . similar to ONE of those people who'd done so MUCH for him and his so . . . VERY long ago.

Six tails twitch (one for each century of life) in annoyance for having been denied (if only on a personal level) rebalancing an issue of debt honor so long...

"Kagome, would you come in her please?" Inuyasha calls. "Call for Shippo as well, if you would?"

"But in the meantime," the male kitsune mutters, staring at the wide eyes (and silent) female kitsune before him.

"What should I call you?" he asks softly. "Do you even remember who you were . . . before?"

He senses the same smell of transformation magics (and a bit of that same binding mind magic that "Suzie" had upon her so long ago). That business of first being transformed into another sex HAD been more than a bit disorienting (and actually disgusting) to this kitsune, but eventually he'd come to understand (if not actually forgive the perpetrator who'd done it).

What HE had never been able to do is get over the idea of MIND CONTROL, though. Which he catches whiffs of upon this young . . . female kitsune he knows had been at least SOME kind of analog of that one elf . . .

A snapping of a finger and the young kitsune in question reels, nearly falling down again from having so recently arisen from the floor.

The floor of this place is pretty much the only solid thing about, everything else is kind of vaporous. Must remember that the kitsune are not of the mortal world, but of the spirit. They go about on THAT plane (for the most part) in mortal shells which they . . . borrow or whatever through various means.

. . .

Long story. Don't ask. Just saying that the fact that a bunch of kitsune who'd been on the mortal planes suddenly showing up back home is . . . more than a bit unexpected. Kind of a social gauche, really....

. . .

Still....

"Wha . . .what are you doing?!" Lady Akira screeches, seeing the magicks she's woven on her new servant's being undone. "It is not of any of your business what....!"

"I am making it my business!" Inuyasha growls, hackles raised (litterally).

  1. Of course, in the world of kitsunes it isn't going to be just this easy and. . .
