Well, we soon see the convoy coming upon a town with some kind of
inn in it called "The Inn of the Last Home" or something like that. Looked
rather ramshackled and such, like a tornado or something had touched down
there...
Actually, it's worse than that...
Little to no signs of life here except for a male Kender (think of them
as something like short human beings with pointed ears, attention span
of children, and a knack of picking up things that don't belong to them)
and a large, muscular human man with an injured knee here. They are found
unconscious (knocked out by whatever has brought this place to this unlikely
location), and are....upon finding themselves surrounded....very worried.
More so when they discover that some strange type of device (a magic item?)
is not functional...
However,....
Kang and the gang aren't interested in carrying out old standing orders
or bad blood feuds (even when it's determined that these two people been
a rather bad enemies in the past). So, still stunned into silence, the
two find their hurts not only tended to....but supplies given, and also
directions given to the nearest friendly village.
Those dead who could be found are given a quick mass cremation and prayer
by Queen Astra and the Draconians before moving on.
"Think they'll get over it soon and move before nightfall?" Kang asks
nobody in particular as they leave.
"No, not really." Roland sighs, looking back.
"Any idea what happened here?" Slith asks, looking over at Queen Astra.
A gut instinct tells the Sivak that she'd have some answer.
"Similar things back on my world happened," she says quietly, "Towns
just seemingly dropped into remote locations where they hadn't been before.
Histories given of events that hadn't happened. I'd say that something
similar happened here."
She then proceeds to tell of the woes that Terra Prime went through
when her slipgate system began to fail.
"Have to wonder what kind of chaotic situation we'll see with so many
dopplegangers
running around," she finishes up, "We of Terra got off relatively easy,
but here? Who knows?"
"Wonder what this'll do to those super massive dragons' master plans
for Krynn?" another draconian, a Bazz, murmurs to himself, "Can't say that
their egos will stand on sharing conquered lands and toys."
The others look at him, surprised. Rather astute observation for that
type of Draconian (Bazz were thought to be rather...dull and unimaginative).
Turns out to be true, though. Various dragon controlled lands were now plunged into civil war thanks to now having two (or more) dragon lords claiming the same territory. But be that as it may, it meant that a strange group of Draconians and their odd friends can slip by into that abandoned city. It had been a rushed journey, but thankfully a relatively uneventful one. At least up until the end.... Seems that that Red dragon had, instead of fighting like so many of
the others had in keeping what they thought as theirs instead of letting
these "newcomers" take over. Well, it seems that this dragon's pride was
too important..... Too bad it hadn't thought to actually study those strange
weapons these Draconians had....
No, not the hight tech stuff. Something else....
See, sometimes allies can be weapons....
This had been by choice, this "weapon"....
The dragon mage, having abelly full of this Red, takes to the air as
she comes swooping down....
.....
Flashes of lighting.
The flash of fire....
The slash of claws...
The Red dragon female is more massive and strong, perhaps, but is still
rather the novice of using this new magic in combat. The same isn't true
for Synizn....and it shows as a telling blow hits the panicked Red in the
belly....and blows it to hades in a gory shower!! She crashes plows into
a few abandoned buildings at the outskits of this abandoned city. Synizn
follows.
The dragon mage lands and looks down dying dragon...and sighs as the
Red tries to shout a curse with her dying breath.
"Die already....you melodramatic lizard!" he mutters as his spell bolt
blast and melts every last neuron in the prone and dying reptillian beast's
mind.
It's over, and the Draconians (stunned at the fierceness of this battle)
move in and set up. The Draconians wish their new friends a good journey
as Queen Astra prepares the door to Midworld. The humans wish the Draconians
the best in their upcoming endevours (setting up a free, new nation in
this world is going to be....interesting...even with their wonderful weaponry
and such).
"And here we are," Queen Astra whispers, looking up in awe at what was before them. Go Back
