It has all to do with the good ol’ soul, you see. Now, I didn’t exactly follow the “science” Lilith tried to explain to me on just HOW her world exactly went about and found “proof” that such a thing actually exists--one of those things that kinda made me put than Neon Gen anime more in the ream of “fantasy” than “science fiction, giant robo/mecha things aside fighting “aliens” who are called “Angels”--but it all blends together to the problem at hand with “Eva” and “Lilith”. And just about anyone who actually came back from being turned into a puddle of Tang.

Boils down to this: once connected always connected. At least at some level. Meaning that if say Shinji Akari and Asuka (IF she survived getting strangled, not a clear thing like just WHY in the HELL Shinji had been doing that in the end of the End of Evangelion movie) suddenly showed up and saw ol’ Lilith here . . .they’d know whether or not it was “their” Lilith who’d done that Instrumentality crap or not! It’s a psionic thingamabob or whatever....

Man, I am SO very much gonna burn all my black t-shirts after today! Got sucked down a wormhole in my spacesuit (and why did I NOT remember to tie a lifeline before going out into space like that?) and face not only a man in black alien who wanted to kill me for having the wormhole knowledge in my ol’ head, I meet magical talking lions! Girls from an anime/manga parallel universe who just happen to . . .

Sigh, well at least they’re on my side and all that. Not like 9/10ths of everyone else out here in the Uncharted. Or . . .wherever we are now, anyway.

Bottom line, the Kalish woman (Sikozu) here knows Lilith and Lilith knows the Kalish chick, even IF she didn’t recall ever sharing Instrumentality with her in a prior life/incarnation until NOW!!

As for the other question? Well, it . . . Came up in conversation, you see? Somewhere after Lilith finally got over the shock of the idea that one of her “harvesters” having gone rogue and all that. Even she’s not sure how that exactly happened. Just that it happened and probably has something to do with Sikozu being both extraterrestrial and all that AND an out of towner (off reality and all that).

Case of indigestion and such. Couldn’t swallow her up...

As for that stuff about her playing possum when we stuffed her into a cell for safekeeping a bit ago before everyone got all their marbles back from that mystical/magical wormhole tour? Well, kinda can understand that. Went and found her evil twin sister here (if I understand this doppelganger business). Got into a fight. Defended herself with a phasor (!) and disintegrated her. Played possum, not knowing much of anything about us so to get time to get the lay of the land and all.

Fine with that and it was self defense. . . .kinda explains the scorch marks we’d come across earlier and she’s behaving now. Handed her weapons over for safekeeping and all that with Rei over there so okay.

MAN, whatever else this “Instrumentality” stuff must have done to “Psycho-zoo” must have really done a number on her if she’s so wound around Lilith’s little ol’ finger to willingly disarm herself like that. Somehow, I get the feeling that she’d willingly do just about anything for Lilith...

Well, anyway that all said the GOOD things that’s come of this day kinda are the reasons why I’ve not gone off to my quarters and gotten profoundly “sh*tfaced”! I mean getting to be able to get together with Aeryn again is a FANTASTIC deal! Rubbing it in ol’ Scorpy’s face on top of everything else (no wormhole weapons but here’s that equation you’ve been hounding me for anyway, you cadaverous SOB) was great.

Being able to actually possibly save Zhaan this time around instead of frelling things up like I did the last time around? Priceless!!

Oh, it’s kinda weird that we’re going to be doing it through magical means (Rei and her to sisters are freakin’ magic USERS, by gawd) but we’ve got a real chance here. And Pscyho’s even being helpful here. Falling all over to be helpful to Rei and her sisters (Lilith in particular).

Eh, it works for me. The Kalish is useful and that’ll do despite her not actually being the original but some analog or whatever. Our invite had been for the original....

So we’re not gonna kick her off the boat YET. Soon enough, but not yet. Hey, I’ve had to kill a few people myself in my time (in self defense and all that), but still this business we have with her shall last only as long as it will take her ship to rendezvous with us at the nearest planet with the stuff that we’ve determined (with inputs from both Kalish and vampire pale triplets) will help Zhaan.

More mundane means are too far away to reach in time, even at Moya’s top speeds. Rei and her sisters are going to be Zhaan’s best, last and ONLY hope here.

Plan is simple enough and somehow I get the feeling that Rei and her sisters somehow are experienced enough, young though they seem, to be able to “improvise” if the dren should hit the fan and it goes all fubar on us.

Land on this one Earhtlike planet inhabited oddly enough by humans (and other creature of Terran myth and legend). Go to a nearby market that some kinda Game is going on according the Psycho-zoo and get the magical ingredients we’ll be needing IF we don’t luck out with searches for it elsewhere.

But whatever the outcome, after this try Rei and friends are gonna part ways with us. I . . .have a sneaking supicion that despite of peace with that DVD which shows her life and story (she knows “interesting” things about us so she’s balancing it out with the offer, creepy as it is in a way) . . .they want to ditch us for a faster ride. That means that Kalish’s ship, which she brags is MUCH faster than our ride!

Rei sees a traveling caravan of elves with wares for sale and the merchants say, after much back and forth over exactly what the girls are looking for, have just what they’re looking for. . . .

Apparently however these natives do magical potions, it’s done in a different fashion than with spell ingredients.

1. It just was something of an unpleasant shock to find out that these merchants . . .where amongst OTEHR things: slavers. For some odd reason Rei had expected something . . .better from elves (wood or otherwise)!
