“Through the same way that Crichton knows of us we know of you all,” I say, pulling out my collection of Farscape episodes from one of my pouches.

All eyes are first more interested in the feat of me pulling out a collection case that is clearly larger than the apparent volume of my pouch. I hate to brag but I do believe I rather enjoyed crafting my own “bags of holding”. The mathematics behind that extra-dimensionally big pouch was difficult even for me at first but the payoff was well worth it!

Almost have to chuckle though as the penny finally drops with Crichton when his mind processes just what I said and what I actually pulled out of my bag.

“Oh God, no-no-no!” he protests softly, staring at the dvds after snatching them out of my hands for a closer inspection. “This cannot be happening!!?”

“Yes it can just like my and my sister’s lives are reflected in both manga and anime in your reality,” I says softly, gently placing and arm on his shoulder to try to calm him down.

Nervous sort, this one. Easily put out of sorts....

“It’s a phenomon not totally understood by many scientists and magi from Terra Prime,” I add. “Some theories propose some kind of extra- dimensional esp. Writers of various fictions are actually looking into other realities when they come up with their material and there MAY be something to it, what with the psychic feedback/distress one gets from viewing their own lives played out from a work of fiction from antoher realm.”

“That is somewhat the reason why we have not as of yet seen a single full episode of the Neon Genesis anime,” Rei puts in. “It’s embarrassing enough to look back now and wince how embarrassing it must have been for our poor Shinjis with that one time he visited our apartments to deliver our new NERV ID cards....”

“Hey, what’s so frellin’ embarrassing about that?” Chiana asked, clearly unaware of that rather infamous encounter I and my sisters had with a boy named Shinji Akari.

“I had been showering at the time and hadn’t even put on a robe before you knew it he’d tripped and ended up groping one of my breasts,” Reika muttered, a light flush of embarrassment coloring her checks. “And he’s my brother...”

“And me,” I mutter, not liking that memory myself. Hey, it had been an accident what had happened and he’d nearly died in embarrassment at what had happened. Now only aware of that event through . . .second hand , what with his (now her) memories of events before coming to NERV being erased and all that.

. . .

Now, what I say next is kind of an insight into why I do not overly miss my old life back at NERV and the “Neon Genesis” thing. It’s not the ONLY reason I don’t miss it (lots of reasons why not to miss it, but pretty high on the list of hated reasons, being bound by Fate one of the tip top reasons). I may ramble a bit, but then again the reason is rather . . . Involved.

I’d done that to him and to the others at NERV so they wouldn’t have been so traumatized by events like the Angel War and Third Impact.... Bad enough that they’d even have to go through it and . . .well, it blew up in my face. Chaos Energy (ala Addventure Game 3) was to blame for that, mostly.

Long and complicated story. Kind of why I have grandchildren through my NOW daughter, formerly Shinji Akari and now Nadia . . .

Gender transformation from Chaos energy is such a WEIRD thing in my eyes even now, years after the fact...

...

But that said I am just saying that as Nadia’s mother I don’t like recalling that event. Neither did Nadia because it’s so embarrassing. Not that I have much of a sense of body modesty (was raised as “Rei” to dismiss such notions, probably as a nod at the “Garden of Eden” milieu, what with me supposedly having left the Garden before the Original Sin and such nonsense). It’s that my then son (now daughter) actually saw me naked.

Saw me and the entire event is for anyone to see if they go to any decent bookstore and put down enough yen for it! Come one come all, see a sight that rivals the worst TV romance. Amnesia suffering mother gets halfway involved with their long lost child in a torrid . . .

Well, nothing ever really went that far, thank God...

Hrmph, anyway my sisters also have the same situation (Rei with her seeing herself as “her” Shinji’s mother due to the imprinting/whatever “her“ Yui Akari‘s memories did her, re: 61620). Same with Reika and “her” Shinji Akari, her half brother by blood (if nothing else).

My good Lord, our old worlds were f*cked up culturally, physically, and in so many other ways by Second Impact that isn’t not funny!!

But . . .Dwelling is so . . .not us. Go onto bigger and better things, and that. We did what we could for it and once our Bound to humanity there was satisfied (the gift of being able to travel to other stars and colonized counts as that, in my opinion), we moved on. Not to say we’ve forgotten about it all. You know we can’t do that.

But I’m saying and we’re seeing in those of Moya’s crew they know why certain old memories of our youth are NOT pleasant or comfortable ones.

Sigh. Far is far, but at least we’ve kind of given clue enough as to why we’re not comfortable with Rei’s proportion here next.

“In addition to the DVDs on our life we shall compensate you for your time and efforts naturally,” I put in from the side.

“Earth cartoons show things like that Crichton?” Chiana blinks, looking away from me and my sisters and at the astronaut in question. “Old man, I didn’t understand half of what you told me about the stuff you grew up on . . .”

Common complaint, that not understanding the babbling John tends to do with his pop culture fixation.

“Japanese anime is a . . .bit different from the Western stuff I grew up on Pip,” Crichton explained to the questioning Nebari female. “As for my life being . . .”

“Oh frell me!” one of the members of Moya mutter, paying more attention to whatever they’re looking at inside a DVD cover than me and my sisters.
