| "Okay Deveron." Selania continues as she walks around the prostrated
male. "I need to know a few things. I don't know if I can really trust
you, but your the best lead I've had since....never mind.
"Now, I notice you wanted to know....what do you make of my claim? About
me saying that I used to be a male human before....becoming Selania?"
Deveron's scaley brow furrows and then answers the best he can.
"Well, my Lady." he begins slowly. "I was....under the mating urge....when you told me. I thought I was hearing things. Then I saw that you were telling the truth....I'm very good at telling emotions through facial expressions and can tell when someone is lieing to me. I then noticed that your Ladiship had been shrunk down to my.....altered size. I don't think that Merkotos knows about how the commoners are COMPELLED to obey those of Royal Blood. If.....you are what you say you are....then......" Selania prods Deveron.
"Then WHAT?" she says in exapseration.
"Before I answer that.....my Lady....did you put on some type of....piece
of clothing that looked like it was...made of scales?" Deveron asks timidly.
"As a matter of fact, I had bought a green scaley dress for my girlfriend
before....something from that thing made me wear it and....I changed into
Selania." Selania admits. "I...see." Deveron says quietely after a few
seconds. "Then the rumors about my.....friend were true.....that he had....adbucted
the......real Lady Selania. I'm afraid the only way that you....who ever
you were before.....becoming an exact twin of Selania is by taking Spell
Components from her.....dead body."
"You mean the scales....of that dress....were the scales of Lady Selania?"
Selania asks with a sick feeling in her stomach. "A intelligent being was
killed so....I could be changed into an exact copy of her....so I could
be a puppet ruler of the Empire?"
"!?" says Deveron intelligently. Selania goes over what little she knows
(or has guessed) of Merkotos. Deveron is livid at the end of Selania's
story. Selania calms him down, and then Deveron comes up with a plan.
"It's pretty obvious that Merkotos plans on getting rid of you after
I was to....mate with you." Deveron reasons aloud. "I suggest that you....play
like you fell asleep after the experience.....that's the normal course
of events Selania or whatever your name is. I'll go in and act like nothing
is amiss, then I'll kill him!"
"That seems kinda.....too easy if you ask me." Selania mutters.
