"This is Lt. B'Ellana Torress to anyone out there,"
Torres whispered into her combadge, separate. "I don't know if anyone is
out there, but I need help….and NOW!"
"On my way!" Lt. Seeker said, locating the source of the signal. "Hang on, I'll be there in five!" Torres, caught between asking who her would be savior was and wanting to cry a hearfelt thanks, instead shouted in fear as yet another bullet struck near the spot she'd just occupied. Kane was still after her, and apparently he wasn't afraid of running out of ammunition!
What in the name of the Creator is she
doing here? Seeker asked himself as he looked upon what appeared to
be that ship that his unit commander had warned off so long ago. Whatever
the case was, the Voyager didn't look to be in a good way. In fact,
her hull was rippling to denote the changing interior of the strange ship.
Also, there was a few awkward facts. On one hand, Seeker, a avid fan of Star Trek: Voyager had been secretly disappointed at not actually being able to meet the Star Fleeters in the ACTUAL flesh (it had always been a dream of the young AI….and very possible given the nature of parallel worlds). Then there was his more rational, reasonable side had then stepped in, silencing him before he made a fool of himself in front of his unit commander! In actuality, his rational side had pointed out, surelythat ship had only had a superficial resemblance to the one found on that 2-D television show. Furthermore, for the actual Voyager to have been there would give truth to the fairy tale of antimatter warpcores! He'd heard the whispered, fanciful rumors of such
a technology being with held by the Company. He laughed at such rumors,
for they made no sense! Creator above, to with hold something like THAT,
something that would free up the Military warmachine's dependence on Tiberium
would be sheer lunacy! What would be accomplished by that?
Now…with the readings his scanners were giving
him from what could only be Engineering, Seeker had a sick feeling that
he'd been too early to dismiss the possibilities!
That aside, scans were also showing that there
was only Torres (a favorite of Seeker) and one other human being aboard
the warped ship. Now was just the question of just HOW to get Torres OUT
safely.
He couldn't dock with the Voyager, because the
rippling hull could very well damage his ship's body….and Seeker loathed
the idea of scuttling himself that way!
