"And here I and most others make do with bikes," Alston said softly
to nobody in particular.
The adventurers meet Morgana and tell her about the problems they are facing and their hopes that she might have a means for them to aid those back on Midworld. "Well, usually I'd travel by Rift to where I usually need to go...but some places I and Rugen take the Beam back to where I need going," Morgana mutters, fiddling with a pouch on her belt, "Funny that you folks wanted to do the same thing I and Rugen had planned on doing after Inquirer's wedding....but considering the array of talents before me here and your last honeymoon adventure....sort of got messed up here (re: 14962). Always was a sucker for a romance....." She talks to a Rule on a regular basis?! Edward Solomon blinks as Morgana gives them a Key to a Door to Midworld He was coming along with the others because frankly he's caught the same bug for adventure as the others a long time ago....and the fact that he and Andrea 2 were now dating each other (and what a great first date.....this quest). "Let's see," Rugen mutters as he pulls out an odd looking map, "Just to make sure......yep." "That....map?.....looks like some kind of modern art version of a rose," Alston observes, looking over Rugen's shoulder (not hard to do, considering that Rugen stands a mere three feet tall). Rugen chuckles a little. "That's what happens when the Dark Tower rearranges it's Beams into
Emergency Configuration," Morgana chuckles, "The Tower did it to bring
about the best odds of getting the right sorts together....."
Uh right, Alston finally manages, wondering why she bothers sometimes if she doesn't want the answers to certain questions. Indeed, sometime real soon she'd wake up in a cold sweat over all of this. Right now, she still was trying to get used to the idea of having access to some of the amenities she'd grown up with, what with that new trade store (re: 18314) that the Council had approved....with trade between here and Terra Prime and all that...... Oh, because trade was limited (some luxury items and such), not everything could come through that store (i.e. Nantucket and the Voyager was going to still do a lot), but still..... "Well, that's interesting," The Doctor says softly, seeing the place Rugen is pointing (and understanding it), "Is that not the last world Queen Astra and Roland went through before landing at the base of the Dark Tower?" "Yep," Rugen said, forestalling a question he saw within some faces, "And just like the same reason why in that one Stephen King movie, The Stand the heroes had to travel to by foot (or other manual means) into Los Vegas, Queen Astra and Roland had to travel by natural means via the Beam to Krynn. Otherwise, if you'd tried that stunt and short circuit the trip by TARDIS, the Door you'd be using in that one Draconian city wouldn't work right for your mission. Oh, I know it'll put you in one of the three points you're shooting for...." Which was good for this particular quest, but wouldn't have done a bit of good for Queen Astra and Roland earlier. The plan they came up with finally was for the adventurers to be dropped off on Krynn and the TARDIS to go on ahead to pick up the other wedding guests. Then, after waiting for the adventurers to help the last of Roland's duplicates and such, they'd take the adventurers and their Draconian guest to Nantucket Earth. At least they didn't have to worry about picking up the second Blake 7's gang. That was being covered by a rather unofficial visit from a retired Military member who'd helped overthrow the Federation in that universe (i.e. the woman in question was picking them up and bringing them to Terra Prime...where Vincent would teleport them to Nantucket Earth). And what of those Draconians? Go Back |
