She strode determinedly forward into the control room, alert for
further interference.
Inquirer swiftly enters into the control room, followed closely behind
by (and unexpectedly by) E'eysha (formerly known as Astra Thessamer on
her old world), Gilmuriel (formerly Sir Fred on his world), Elrondir (known
as Seeker, an Alliance AI, before being reincarnated), and B'elanna (known
as B'ellana Torres, a dream prop/golem free willed copy of the Star Trek
Torres).
Inquirer looks down in the in askance as the draw forth bows with strange
arrows (blunt tipped....but with a odd "smell" of magic to them").
"Elfshot?" Inquirer asks, "Isn't that a bit extreme?"
"No....we're using a weaker version of that," E'eysha chuckled as she
took position by a computer terminal, "This version will only incompasitate
the victim for a few days....not years or decades like the others. All
elves have the inate.ability to endow certain arrowheads with that well
known curse,....we've learned from Grailing in private how to control it's
strength."
"Not quiet as good as a phasor on stun....but these arrows will put
any zombified VLA techs out of commission for the time we need," B'elanna
agreed, pausing to reflect on how her life had changed....and thanked the
Creator that she had a life still (especially with Elrondir)! "It will
DEFINITELY will bring them out of their Master induced stupor, however!"
The Doctor, havilg paused and listened in on this conversation, shakes
his head in silent bemusement. Usually, it's the Companions who need his
help. These folk definitely are more competent than some of the others
he'd had in the past.
And they had joined him in this venture out of loyalty and trust.
The Time Lord thanks the gods for these friends he's suddenly found,
and looks forward in being able to show them so many things....as they
will show him in turn......
The Doctor smiles and then keeps a weather eye out for anyone (unlikely
as it was due the protection offered by Inquirer and the elves). Spells
that he chastises himself for not having thought to use in that last incident
dance upon his tongue, ready for use.
Several technicians with handguns come shuffling in, to see what is
keeping the other guard, only to fall to the floor by either mage spell
or elfin magical arrow.
The Doctor finally gets over to the controls that can be used to transmit
messages from the VLA dishes....instead of just receiving them as they
scan the heavens for clues to the universe. The Time Lord then sighs as
he rapidly types the equations into the computer.... This will take a while....
Inside, Sigin has escorted the wounded Ragan to a chair and Betty heads
off to get a medical kit...only to be stopped by Sigin's cough.
"While that is a good idea....though her wounds will have fully healed
without a trace of the injury within the hour," the dragon mage says calmly
as he removes several spell components from his pouch belt, "I'd rather
think what would work best would be a bit of healing magic. That's one
of the first series of simple spells I teach all my beginning students....by
the way."
Betty and Ragan sigh in relief as the bullet wound closes and the skin
closes.....and even turns the same color tan as the rest of the surrounding
flesh.
-
"I
can't wait to get started," Ragan mutters in bemused voice as he looks
at where the bullet wound had been.
