Inquirer holds up a simple looking key. The key that was one of
many things stripped off of the Master. The Doctor blinks and feels......
Bemused.
He did tend to make things a bit more difficult than they need be,
Ragan chuckled to herself, bemused also.
"Oh my goodness," Ragan says mostly to herself, "all this and she's
captured the most evil and notorious villian of Whoism! I'm glad she's
on our side!"
The Doctor nods his head silently, looking at the smiling Inquirer.
Inquirer sighs and chuckles softly.
"Ah....about that," the golem says, "as far as the Masters go, the tricks
I used to capture him won't work a second time. I at least know that much.
He's very intelligent, and ruthless to boot. No, a large part of why I
was able to capture him and his brothers so easily those times was he wasn't
expecting me....and the methods I used. Heck, who in his right mind would
expect a spell throwing mechanical maiden?"
The Doctor nods, seeing the point.
"If he gets free he'll be better prepared," Ragan says, seeing. "Then
you'll have a bit of a problem next time. IF there is a next time.
You were rather....adamant about letting the civil authorities handle the
matter. Letting the other Doctor's Gallifry take up the burden."
"Yes, something like that," the Doctor says, nodding.
"I'm not here to make policy nor play judge," Inquirer say, "To do so
under these non-wartime conditions....would be dishonorable. Let him be
judged and punished by his peers.....by the laws of his homeland who's
laws and morals he pissed upon for selfish desires."
It all goes hand and glove with Military policy, Inquirer said
to herself, that and the policy of a Military official not being able
to hold a civilian government position! We follow "Starship Trooper" the
book's example. Not the Hollywood version of it. Ye gods, they butchered
Heinleins' masterpiece! What with the obviousness of the director's thinking
that Robert was promoting fascism. Movie soldiers dressed in what were
modified Nazi outfits! Fascists soldiers controlling government while STILL
in the Armed Forces! Sheesh. Hollywood sure was cheesy......there.
"And as for the key trick," Inquirer continues, "let's just say that
I just took what your biggest fan in the Dwarven nation told me about what
she'd seen of how you tend to do things......I just wished I'd had more
time to get all the Dr. Who material and shows she wanted to share!"
Thanks Diane! Inquirer chuckled at the Doctor's consternation.
And
just like the Master, I doubt I'll get a second chance at trickery with
this.... fascinating man.
Inquirer found the Doctor very intriguing.....
"Well, sooner or later we'll need to get inside," the Doctor finally
says.
"Let it be soon for the time limit for the other Doctor and his companions
to return safely to their universe is growing neigh," Ragan sighs, remembering.
"Pity that the other TARDIS.....the other Master's TARDIS will be ruined
by them using it as a springboard of sorts.....getting home."
"Oh, but won't it just upset him," the Doctor chuckles, envisioning
the Master's face upon learning what had befallen his TARDIS. He then sobers
as Inquirer magically floats the door key over to the Master's TARDIS to
open it.
"Don't feel like taking chances with booby traps," Inquirer says, remembering
what Walker had told her in passing about one episode.
-
"Well, I guess....I
should ask what I owe you," The Doctor finally says as they enter the darkened
TARDIS.
