The smile vanishes at what Inquirer says next.
Understand, the Master was not stupid, just ill informed. He'd seen
this figure rematerialize with the other TARDIS in a position that could
only denote somebody having rode on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle.....a sure
way to a quick and cold end! The woman is moving around like well enough,
so obviously it's some type of trick....a magician's slight of hand. People
don't just ride on the outside of TARDISes and expect to live. The enviroment
is too hostile! So,obviously this can't be real, so it must be a trick.
So, the Master had a trick or two of his own. His dive for the weapon (to
replace the ones that Stacy had removed before tying him up had failed,
so he'd resorted to an old standby. Hey, even if this woman wasn't human,
few humanoids were able to resist his....er.....charm.
Let's just say that the Master's pickup lines only work on those who
are wholly organic in nature. Inquirer, as a golem AND an AI, isn't by
any means such as that.
She'd been able to resist being displaced from her Avatar body when
the ghostly evil Dr. Vincent had tried. (re: 3145) That was due to her
nature as a golem.
She'd been able to resist being mesmerized by an elder vampire on Terra
Prime when she'd rescued Alicia 2 (re: 2505). At the time she had "only"
been an AI piloting her Avatar unit (the body she now will wear for the
rest of her life upon becoming a true golem....albeit a hybrid of science
and magic), and her alien nature prevented the vampire from being able
to dominate her mentally. She was too alien.
With her being a hybrid, she's become something that is.....very different.
Something that won't be bent to the evil Timelord's will. Her nature has
gotten to the point that only a combination of science and magic (and a
lot of skill and power) is needed to do that!
And that is something that very few people even have a theory on doing.....
"F*** you!" she snaps, glaring at the Master. "Here I go and save you
from getting your hand frozen solid on this phasor and you want to play
Dracula?! The bloody weapon was at something like 3 degrees Kelvin a few
seconds ago, you putz!"
She then smiles. She's already put this guy out of sorts (and not instilled
a bit of fear if his bioreadings are any indicator). Let's REALLY mess
with him.
A few arcane words and a gesture with her free hand and the Master yelps
as he he's suddenly standing in the middle of the room.....with only his
underwear to cover his modesty. Various instruments and nicknames clatter
to the floor only to roll over towards the woman who'd....somehow done
this to him. He feels his hearts skip a beat or three in fear as the woman's
eyes turn red....and she's talking softly with a soft.....gentle yet alien
sounding words that....... All the Master can do is stare and he feels
his eyes....getting heavy.....
The Master is snoring even after he falls to the ground.
She turns after seeing that the others are still staring at her and
sighs and asks to see if there was any spare clothing to be had.....
The analogs are at first shocked at Inquirer's tale, but finally get
over it. It's something that's weird, but then again the whole business
here
is weird.
Inquirer smiles at being offered a place on Dr. Who's TARDIS for at
least until his task is completed.
The others look like Dr. Who's nuts for saying he believes in magic
now, (the look of surprise that the other Doctor gives him is priceless).
However, they all agree that there are things to do.
One is to handle the Master. Inquirer, something of an expert at this
by now, since it's becoming old hat for her, gathers his equipment (carefully)
and performs the magical transformation of the Master's underwear (the
black trunks cause the Bettiesof the Doctor's group to laugh and even causes
the other Betties to chuckle despite seeing similar trunks on another set
of Masters) into prisoner clothing (this time the stripped prisoner uniform
of the Keystone cops). With another spell, the prisoner is decked out in
restraints that harken back to Silence of the Lambs.
"If you adjust the circuit here...." Dr. Who says to his counterpart
as they are bent over trying to undo the tampering that the Master (and
unbeknownst to them.....Author Scott).
"You rolled the truck?!" one of the red haired Betties (either
the one now called Ragan or the other Betty of the other Doctor's
group) gags.
Inquirer wonders what that is about. Stacy and Betty of the other group
(supposedly) are having a quiet conversation with Sigin 2, Dr. Who's Betty
(the brown haired Betty) and the elves....and the Betty of the other Doctor's
groups looks like she'd not bargained for any of this when she'd woken
up to help her Stacy this morning.
Inquirer walks over to the Doctors and coughs delicately.
"In one episode I saw that the TARDIS had a forcefield that could act
like a bridge of sorts," the AI says quietly, remebering a scene from Shada,
as the Timelords look up, "Think you can make it reach the Master's TARDIS?
I'd like to try to see if we could get the other Melissa out....if she's
in there."
