Fertal "You see, we came here also with a somewhat unstated purpose and I fear that Mr. Griffin might be involved with my and my friend's business, you see." he says calmly, in a low and reasonable tone of voice. "We find we need something from him desperately, first before you, my dear. Besides, we had found him first." Calm as you please, he puts that out in a tone of voice that is quiet different than what this Mrs. Murray uses to reply to that let me tell you! Shall we say she is not in a good mood right now, made all the worse by my elfin friend's (Elrondir) rather off the cuff remark? It had at first shaken her a bit, and now? A quick dawning of understanding had happened between then and now amongst our groups, so we all had now an inkling as to what is happening! Thank God in his Heaven that by gifting my love and myself with our rightful forms He included the natural ability of mindspeak that the Doctor's group obtained either from birth form or learnt while under Sigin's tutelage, else we Dark Elves would be rather out of the loop. No, we do not know the "future" here for these people (if Elrondir is correct) since he'd only had perused the advertisement blurbs on some prior convention jaunt, in search of some artistic "inspiration" to be found in some now long dead "comic book artists" of the 20th century (his reality's calendar). I cannot (as of yet) understand the whole of it (being still too new to Terra Prime), but bottom line he'd known enough to catch Mrs. Murray's attention (and perhaps ire for mentioning things she'd rather forget). Not that she could, especially whenever she'd have to look in the mirror at her neck, but still all in all . . . Well, right now perhaps a small Companion can help shift things from a deadlock with Mrs. Murray (the apparent leader of this motley mess) not being too receptive to our position. Unfortunately, what I'll have to do next is something akin (in Royal Court politics, something I and my love are GOOD at, even now as elves . . . . rather like Gilmuriel and E'eysha, oddly enough) to what Elrondir once described as "a two by four's blow between a jackass' ears". Not to say that Mrs. Murray (formerly Harker, I feel) is a fool. However, she's VERY angry and that can make people do foolish and rash things. Prone to ignore sound advice and people. . . . I want her attention, and unfortunately that means drastic measures might be needed. Beats Chiana blowing up and saying that she's had it up to Krasacs Bow (whatever exactly that means) with Mrs. Murray and her bunch or tribble loving p'taks (again, whatever that exactly means, though it's general meaning is sound) by B'Elanna. No, we need Griffin at the very least and would rather not have to FIGHT to keep him. He might be the key to the Cavorite, you see. Either that or perhaps . . . . . . . No, let us start from the beginning here, okay? Now, as for your question about Griffin being the key to the Cavorite, he might just be, maybe directly or maybe only in a round about way! See, according to Elrondir, the several pages of comicbook art he'd seen had said that someone named Bond had send Mina down there to get Griffin and bring him back so he could be recruited into the League. *Then*, that done she and the others of the League would finally get the details of their mission. What their mission should be, we don't know, but that's what Elrondir got and passed along to us. I can tell that Mina's not leaving without Griffin, whatever the case short of us using magic (or FORCE). My group, after having come upon Griffin, have hit upon the idea while in silent conference that Trilling's vision had directed them here in order to retrieve Griffin to get from him the whereabouts of the Cavorite. Not totally out of the question, being that Griffin might have perhaps stolen it or spied it's actual secret location somewhere in his invisible journeys. We're grasping at straws, because with everything still being in flux the range of the tricorders have been severely constrained according to B'Elanna. That said, we ARE NOT going to leave without Griffin, so we see we have something of an impasse (short of violence or magery). Now, with no other leads, presumably it being most likely to be Griffin that they had been sent after, rather than say Mina or Quartermain, because of his invisibility, you ask? A key to breaking this deadlock without resorting to magic or combat is simple, I feel. You should remember that Elrondir opened his mouth and said things that not only would shake UP Mina, but would also be enough (just) to make her wonder if she should perhaps round up him and his friends. There might be some kind of leak here and she (and perhaps Bond) would like to look into it, eh? Strange references or not laden in Elrondir's words or not, that might be worth rounding up a few extra folks, eh? For security sake and all that, it would! We'd allow it (in part if asked nicely . . . asked is the most likely way being that Mina's group is too small to really force the issue) with the understanding that they would get their turn with seeing to Griffin. At the bare minimum Inquirer would go with them, with us in another carriage following (too many people). Only if nothing else to keep medical tabs on Griffin (who she HAD healed, now much to her disgust when she'd learned about his raping the girls in this school). .... Anyway, with Mina's offer being half hearted or not, a desperate one or not, we will agree because even IF Mina's lying and there would be others at this place they're going. See, now in addition to Griffin, we have the other Leaguers here as well. Might be nothing. Might be something. Must check out to cover all bases. If they should try to stop us . . . Some of the group, it would be darn near impossible to stop with the current state of the art anti-intrusion devices and other means of this place. Actually . . . all of the group . . . Anyway, we WILL get to Griffin and he would TALK! What he would say (how coherent)? . . . But if Griffin (most likely) is too out of it now to be of any use to the League (or US for that matter), Bond might do us a favor (we're praying) and opt to turn a decidedly awkward liability (unknowns who'd somehow stumbled upon their secret organization, even knowing it's name and basic purpose even IF in truth Elrondir only saw a few pages of the comicbook and nothing more). They might recruit the Doctor and the rest of us. Maybe somewhere along the way we'll be able to get some intel that will lead us to the into obtaining the Cavorite? That's the hope. Besides, what's another set of useful set of "freaks" to Bond and M, anyway? With this group within the League (Jekll and Hyde), what would elves be to them? Even elves with inky black eyes (more on that in a moment, trust me). Now, IF our group isn't too overt around Bond (acting too powerful), then it might roll out that way with Bond's offer to the Doctor. That's what my basic idea had been, anyway. Rather interesting idea, eh? You're so very welcome for us having explained it. . Otherwise I saw you having been working rather in the dark. . . . Yes, we do not KNOW if it was the Invisible Man that they were sent after, rather than anyone else at the scene? The rather tight clad school head mistress, perhaps? Well, no. Not HER, but perhaps if not Griffin then one of the other Leaguers, you know. Trilling mentioned ONLY that A means to the Cavorite lay here. The Doctor still remains vague, but . . . Well, we're playing a bet. WE are making an assumption that that Griffin was our man, seeing as how an Invisible Man could come in rather handy if you want to steal some Cavorite. Maybe this is why this H.G. Wells character was here. This madman might have stolen it for his own use (or perhaps accepted a job on a whim by some underground types). Hey, he'd perfect for the job. Until, of course, he got sliced up . . . . that is. . . . If not him, then perhaps Mina and/or her group? Maybe. . . . Hm, if nothing else at least Inquirer is now more sympathetic to Mina. That is something (even if only a small thing in the scheme of things for the moment). Quickly removing contacts and causing my ears to stand up straighter (poking out of the hairstyle that had hid them up to now (must ask Inquirer or someone else to regrow my hair back to the warrior style I'd kept even after becoming elf) I send a STRONG mindbolt at Mina, causing her to blink and stare at me (and only me). Know that she's supsectible to them, considering how Dracula had gotten her from what I'd been told. Lots of people from where I hale from are unaffected by such abilities (thus vampires having had to revise theri . . . hunting tatics). Well anyway, since it worked, my sources were right. . . As an aside, unlike vampires, also living folk who use this ability cannot move while engaging their targets (making the user ALSO a great target themselves). ... Some things to say to you, Mrs. Harker! I say sharply. We know more about certain things. Things like Dracula. Vampires and . . . neckwounds! She pales visibly. I hate using this method. Almost like what Dracula used on her, in a way. Then again, she'd been too wound up to listen to sweet reason from . . . a "little boy" like me!! Also, we all had been outside, fully covered by sunshine (today was one of the more rare sunny days, the Doctor told me) and were not destroyed. Vampires cannot stand sunlight and survive. At least I sense she's not going to go into hysterics over this. Shaken, but not to the point of breakdown or hysterics. Good. . . . We are not blackmailing you but you MUST listen to us . . . calmly and rationaly, I finish up. Please STOP trying to run roughshod all over us!! Let us talk, but NOT in front of them!
