Sigin I speak of both Aeryn Pip and Chi, of course. Oh, and of course my wife . . . No matter just how you feel about the television character based upon them, you would have to have a heart of stone . . . Well, nevermind. . . . I had not been invited my wife/mate's TV viewing party after the "fun" part of our honeymoon (FINALLY, a proper honeymoon after Quest after Quest . . .) in Xanth. Being that Walker (with her many degrees in psychology, including applied xeno) had taken me aside when I'd asked and said that this was for the best and it would excise the demons that had come up when she (of the "First Season" of Farscape as far as her universe went) met "Fourth Season" John Crichton (with him having been hardened and driven to being somewhat paranoid, to understate it by a million miles). As for the others (Chiana's analogs), they somehow talked my wife into watching along with her. I know that they'd done it out of a sense of quirky curiosity. Yes, that same wide eyed curiousity that I so . . . . . . . Hrmph. They'd wanted to see what the others had talked about and did while they'd not been around. A kind of voyeurism they're, I'm sure. . . . They don't talk about it, but I can see it had effects upon each. Shook them up a bit for a while there, but they were able to shake it off (for the most part). Still, it left them . . . changed. Somehow it's not exactly . . . easy to see yourself that way. None of the others (like the Doctor of B'Elanna) have ventured to see the TV shows that reflect their lives. Yeah, I know. I know. B'Elanna's old life really was not reflected in Star Trek: Voyager. It was just all magical memory implants and such in some cockamamie plot to capture the "real" Voyager . . . Real memories (for the Doctor) or false (B'Elanna), both had deemed it just too WEIRD to watch something that was BOTH a work of fiction (in one universe) but was not (in their universe). That had been the case for over 99.99999% of those people out their who'd had their lives caught on TV. Heh, of course MY Chiana's not like others. She stands apart, you know. Oh, but let me count the blessed ways she . . . . . . On the plus side, shaken or not, the marathon session of watching Farscape (all episodes provided by Betty) with a LOT of cross references provided by Inquirer (who answered each and every question the girls in gray "phoned in" each time the TV Crichton used a "pop culture" reference, they're much more "up" on casual English conversation. Up to the point where they're using phrases almost as fluently as those born to it. . . . . . . You know, I could almost be jealous about that, considering how long it took me to switch over from "Elizabethan" English (as seen in some of my plays I had secretly commissioned a fellow named Shakespeare to take credit for) to the more "hip and cool" English that had swept my world. Strange what scrying the ether of other worlds can bring. Scrying used to be just used to predict the future (being that scrying by crystal ball was actually viewing parallel realities which were further advanced event- wise) but it had to soon bring forth the next fashion statement! Talk about frivolous . . . Oh well. That done, we soon move onto the "more serious" part of this vacation. That is, getting some answers for our newest friend, Chi! Let us just say that the Good Magician is NOT happy with how I and the girls trashed his "Three Challenges" to get inside to see him!
