All of the sudden . . .

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 46328

And then things get interesting when they get back for several reasons . . .

Inquirer

"So it seems that you've been busy," I observe in a neutral voice, looking over the various articles of interest from hither and yon.

Creator, you've got to admit that the Celestrials have a sense of humor sometimes. Drop two whole worlds right into the middle of . . .

Oh, nevermind! You know about it already if you've been reading. Scared the Hell out of the Military defense forces, let me tell you . . .

At least we'd managed to drop everyone off who'd been needing dropping off. . . those who'd need dropping off and hadn't been zapped to where ever they'd asked to be let off by the Celestrials. While that saved wear and tear on the TARDIS, it leaves a lot of questions. I've read reports of a "Suzie" the nymph and that singing Replicant who'd made contact with the guards back at Castle D'Honaire. I'd like to know just who they really are before they'd been brainwashed into believing they were other people and all that. Oh, it's a little nosy but then again that IS my nature: to be curious! My name is Inquirer, remember?

"You think?" he quips, groaning a little bit at a lingering trace of headache.

He'd been busy, really. Not only had an entire Manimal village drop in unexpectedly down in the Manimal nation (along with a VERY surprised Fred and Alicia fox Manimal couple who'd been cooped up in that one Excalibur's brig).

That newcomer (Just HOW the Hell did she become a Champion? I'd thought time travelling back to the point before our current "love relationship" criteria was a definite "no no"!) just sure knows how to shake things up... Then again, Chiana (whichever one you speak of) . . .

. . .

Anyway, the topper must have been what my brother did! Bravo zulu! If nothing else, HE was the better choice at attempting a healing on that Aeryn Sun. He'd recover from whatever the price. The same couldn't have been said for Zhaan..

....

Actually, that is very true...

Well, it had been a very noble, but dangerous stunt he'd pulled near the end. Oh, it had gone over REALLY well with Betty and Ragan (who'd done some similar stuff), but by the CREATOR had it gotten a chewing out by B'Elanna after he'd recovered! B'Elanna and he are . . . . paired elves. Passionate!

Well, whilst old friends from the Military Defense forces debrief me in cyberspace (they want EVER to have words with all of us after finding out WE were involved with that cardiac arrest event of two planets popping into the solar system like that, but for time constraints because Quests can nly be delayed so long AND being I'm the only one with a fully functional cyberjack I'm it) it'll give the gryphons time to get . . . to know the new girls in gray...

You remember, just like they'd gotten to know Chiana (re: 38522).

(Note: here's a quick cutaway at the very scene with Aeryn Pip!

Even though Chiana had warned them ahead of time it still was still quiet . . .jolting to the girls.

Back to the show.

. . .

Hey, YOU try to talk a bunch of overprotective gryphons out of looking after their adopted son. Go on, try!

Oh, they make good enough in-laws but . . .

Nevermind . .

And speaking of the object of affection, here comes the Doctor!

And Betty and Ragan. . .with a bunch of Farscape DVDs?

"Uh, Inquirer?" Betty begins. "Remember when Doctor Four and Romana kept on having so many problems with some of their Quests? Well, I've been speaking with the Doctor about it . . ."

"And god knows it isn't like you guys would be lost without us and our TV ," Ragan adds. "If nothing else that last sidetrip you guys made. . . "

"Oh and make sure that at least Chiana gets these copies of Farscape, all four seasons?" Ragan adds. "She'd made us promise and . . . "

"Hold on!" Elrondir begins. "You're leaving?!"

She's leaving? Both of them?

Yes, after thirteen years at the Doctor's (ala the third incarnation's) side, Betty and Ragan are making the move to the Tom Baker Doctor and his companion, Romana because . . . they need help!

. . .

So it looks like we now have an extra Companion room . . .

But fear not! It's not like they're departing forever. The Doctor and others will see them all over Terra Prime. It just means that they won't be going on Quests, what with them lending aid to Dr. Four and that stuff. . . .

. .

Yeah, it's sudden but then again it's more than what we got when the Doctor changed from his sixth to his seventh incarnation! We went away one season and BAMM, new Doctor and . . .

Nevermind, it's done.

As for Chiana, while she's doing it to try get an understanding just why the fourth season Crichton had done what he'd done (shoot Aeryn Pip and all that), it also will make her a subject matter expert (for Farscape).

Hey, it works.

That is, after she figures out how the DVD player works . . .

. . .

Just kidding!

Anway, after all is said and done there aren't many Validation Quests to choose from. In fact, the Doctor decides to just roll all the remaining newbie Champions together into one group and take them on one Big Validation Quest . . .

Just so they can get this business over and done with finally, for crying out loud!

So, on this Quest we have the newbie Champions: Nimi'aia, Elvaraniel, but not Chi (yeah . . . she is a new Champion but the stunt some other high powered entities had pulled that got her into this positio--through no fault of her own-- kind of nulled out any need for a Validation Quest).

Besides the Doctor and his Companions, we'll also be seeing Triakoth coming along (yeah, try to get a pixie away from his mate . . . I'd like to see you try).

Or rather, it would have been this way if the other Champions (namely Inquirer's parents) hadn't gotten back and taken care of this issue. That means that there is nothing left for the Doctor and friends to chaperon. They are free and clear to get back to business that had been suspended can be taken care of now.

That is, the Doctor and Inquirer can go on their honeymoon . . . And his Companions can go exploring about in Xanth proper.

OH, but what was the Quest Inquirer's parents? Well, for a change it's kind of straight forward. They only have to thread their way through a maze of death . . . that's all. See, it's the leftovers from a strange party that analogs of "our" Champions here had on a burnt out planet. Oh, the analogs hadn't been aware of the origins of the planet they'd opted to have the party on (it had been knocked out of Game 3 or whatever by the battle) and . . .

  1. Well, let's let you see the battle . . . and those who'll be inhabiting it . . .
  2. But for a less involved adventure how about we just stick with the Doctor and his Companions?
