Sovay Says . . .

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 44455

Sovay

"Can petoids do that?" I ask him, ears wiggling a little. Rather do find the process of shifting to be . . . enjoyable.

Nothing sexual, understand. (I've run into enough "freaks" out there who'd asked, drooling in anticipation of my answer. Sheesh! Takes all types, I suppose.) Just like to be ABLE to change form. Something I'd always wanted to...

Nevermind, that's not important right now.

Anyway, I generally lay out what we wanted from them, what we could do for them IF they want to help us, and what we would do for them even IF they decided not to help us. We're not trying to be cute and coy. Not trying to be mysterious and conniving. Just straight forward and open.

In as much as we need be. Surely you don't expect us to tell them EVERYTHING? Not only would that be rather overwhelming, honestly, but it would be intrusive (we Champions do have rights to privacy).

But as it stands, Roy and Leon are looking at us like we're Saucer People, come down from the skies wearing silver jumpsuits, antennae sticking out of our foreheads and beeping at them. In other words, they're looking at us like we're from a different world!

...

Well, that's true enough.... I continue on.

"Now," I continue on. "If you wish you and we can part ways. We've given you the method that will arrest your accelerated decrepitude problems, giving you life spans equal to that of a normal human being. Of course, what you'll need to get that fixed lay within Tyrell Headquarters. Nothing outside it comes close! As for other issues, well. . . The sterility problem's . . . you'll have to work out."

Replicants are made, not born. That's a little beyond the purview of what we'd been able to figure out on our own with our "general" knowledge on biomechanics. Their sterility problems (if they feel like having that taken care of) will need something like a specialist back either in the Military or Star Trek reality . . .

That, by the way, had never been addressed in the movie, if you're curious.

"But that said," I finish up, tail twitching a little bit in consternation over having to had concede in discussion beforehand that the Replicants just might decide to go it alone, despite the logic of it all. The again, altruism seems to be unfashionable around here, I see. "With our without us your way to a solution to your problems lays in J. F. Sebastian, address already provided. Either course requires trust on your part, ironically enough."

Yes, they can either trust Dr. Tyrell (and don't ask how INSANE that would be) to fix them. Yes, he just might do it, out of more for something in the pursuit of scientific knowledge. That and it'll also fatten his wallet even MORE than his business has done. That's probably something that really is gravelling both Replicants right now, the realization that in trusting Tyrell (and he delivers) and lets them live that will be the ultimate result.

That or trust us, people who'd not only gotten to their targets before them, but had gotten the jump on them. People who could have easily (we COULD have easily) just killed them ("aired them out") if we'd been Bladerunners, but something entirely different. They dont' know just HOW different, but they've already figured out we're different! Maybe they figure we're just trying to use them as pawns when they agree to throw in with us, but no we don't want them as pawns.

We just want them out of our WAY! That and we need to play it softly ourselves, here.

Roy's friends still has Phylicia, you know. A person we've YET to determine whether or not has a Key Component within her (but oddly enough if she's with Zhora, not beyond the realm of the possible, she's the Key Component bearer because our wand give a general bearing pointing in the direction of Chinatown . . . and probably Taffey Lewis in particular). If they take it into their heads to use her as a shield (or hostage) . . . things could get ugly (for both sides).

Yet in the end they throw in with us (probably thinking perhaps to soon enough turn the tables on us). But if so, whatever they're actually thinking (their train of thought) get's utterly derailed when they are introduced to the TARDIS (which IS almost like a companion to the Doctor in her own right, in a sense).

"What . . . what in the Hell did we just get ourselves into here?" I hear Roy whisper to himself in shock as he stares around at the rather roomy interior.

That's the same question that Zhora has asked herself with the rather UNUSUAL behavior of Phylicia (and the club owner).

That WILL be the same question Pris will ask herself when she meets the person Roy had rahter unexpectedly said would be helping her in this next part.

He'd sounded rather rattled when he'd contacted her with this J. F. Sebastian's address.

"Heelloo!" a cheery voice says, laughing behind her.

"Chiana?" she ventures, looking the other woman (in a leather outfit that's rather . . . fetching) up and down.

As it is, it's that old outfit she'd been in the wont of wearing like what you'd see her TV counterpart stomp around in in Farscape (Season 1).

What was up with that odd twitching? Pris asks herself, staring a little bit for a second or three.

...

"Yeah, and you must be Pris?" the young enthusiastic woman in question smiles. "I've been wanting to meet you for quiite a while now, really. If you're her?"

  1. "Drad!" Chiana cooes happily when Priss nods a hesitant affirmative.
