Walker "That would be the bloodbath scene on that other variant of Moya," Ragan says softly. Hm, yes. Yes, that business. We're not exactly too froggy to go into this next business, dearie. See, here's what's the matter. Oi, are we SO very not froggy about this next business. Here's the thing: our window for success is kinda not exactly narrow you see. That's not the problem. It'll be bloody DIFFICULT, but not impossible. Take on a squad of PK troopa, no problem! Face worse odds, dearie. Believe me, I've done it. Don't CARE to do this, but we can do it. Know it in my heart we can. Just that we facing a very bad fact . . . or POSSIBLY facing it, you see. Dearie, if you're up on your Whovian facts, the worst thing a Timelord and his Companions can happen to them is to know their own future!! That is, the thing here is that there is a PRETTY good chance that while we can get this task done, we're not going to be able to save EVERYONE here from buying their plot! Yes, what Aeryn-Pip and Crichton remember of events is suspect, now that it's clear they'd been under the influence of sorcery. True enough, but to what EXTENT is it suspect?! We're going to find out here, soon enough. Cannot push the envelope TOO much much, else we are going to ruin things. Cannot go into it with guns blazing and stopping the landing party cold, you know. Lots of unwanted things would happen if that happened (besides the PK Command Carrier perhaps deciding to finish up blasting apart Moya in retaliation). See, if we push the envelope and push PAST it, we're risking MUCH. Cannot change the past life of a Champion via timetravel, twist things to something else. Attempts at such foolishness gets the berk who tries bounced to some other universe (probably which is a very close fit to the original, but...) And even then, even IF we were willing to do that, there would be hell to pay for the Crichton in that universe we get bounced into, you know. Remember, that Hex on our Crichton (who's refusing to stay behind in the TARDIS, and by the Forge I'd want him to stay behind but we need the numbers) is a timebomb. We push thing too hard, break the dellusions he'd be under, then that Hex goes off and we have a drooling vegetable on our hands, dearie! Don't want that, thanks. Yeah, but to do nothing? Wait until things settle down enough to were such danger passes? Well, not acceptable at ALL, guv'ner. Yeah, while whoever HAS the Key Component within will be still around (that WAS the obvious strategy of the Demons . . . put it in a place where it'd be safe and secure until retrieval) it would be hard on the others! Only person besides obviously Crichton at the end of this "evolution" being alive had perhaps been Moya of the folks of Moya. Rest were Peace Keepers (oi, and where in the hell did they get that symbol? Could swear it was a symbol from the early Marxist revolution over in Russia back in the 20th). Yeah, so here's what happens. Read and learn! Aeryn Sun and Zhaan are making preparations to take off, trying to make peace with the Peace Keepers. They're ready until their Pod door unexpectedly opens up. First person they see coming through the door had a mop of white/gray hair and skin so at least (at first glance) they aren't aware of the paradox of time travel (as well as other things) in the work here. "Chiana, what the frell are you doing?" Aeryn Sun barks, clearly thinking the Nebari woman was shirking her duties. Last thing she'd heard before setting off was D'Argo ordering her to find as many weapons as possible . . . just in case this foolhardy mission failed. That was a . . . A VERY likely outcome, Sun admits to herself (if only to herself).
