Enter the Agent

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 31385

Chiana

...As I open the door to leave, Scorpius is suddenly standing there smiling at me on the other side! Smiling despite looking like dren, all roughed up like he's been in some kind of fight. But whatever the case with a gun drawn, I find my heart racing!

Now, before I ever even crossed paths with Crichton's (much less my love's) path, I had picked up something in the ways of "martial arts" as they call it here on this (and other) Earths. Whatever the case, when I look back at it, I know that Scorpius should be able to not only easily block my blow, but do it in such a way . . .

. . . .

Uh, usually I'm sure the freller would have just shot me before I would even get anywhere near completing my kick. Then again, I could put it down as to the inborn instinct all males have towards protecting their miblins mixed in with still being somewhat rattled by a fight he'd had with what I later will find out he had with Inquirer!

Then there is the fact that I am no longer a Nebari, but a Dragoness presently in a human seeming! Not only does this mean that I bleed (in this form) crimson instead of the purple I'd lived with since my birth but I now enjoy both a boost in speed and strength. This ability comes up either with a deliberate effort on a Dragon's part (all the better to be able to hide within normal human society until needed) OR . . .in the case of great surprise/fear! I am still getting used to being a dragoness, so I am VERY startled (as well as Scorpius by the looks on his face) as he goes sailing back into the rear of this barn! You see, he successfully blocked my kick (dropping his gun in his haste), but hadn't been able to redirect the force of the blow enough! Oh my! How he flies!

Right at Inquirer's feet, who then slams her fist dead into his face, knocking him cold!

"Sorry I'm late," Inquirer quips. "He left a few false leads . . . "

She mutters something else, shaking her head and then gesturing down at the prone form Scorpy (still out) is put into a spell stasis, and then put into a freeze tube! All that to keep him out of the way at least until our business on "Core Earth" is done (in one way or another).

.....

You know, I almost feel a sense of . . . disappointment as we finish our business with Lady Pella Ardinay. I almost am going to miss old Scorpy, even.

Yeah, right!

Well, at last Crichton won't have to worry about paying yet another visit to the Aurora Chair (or the "Mindprode" as the Doctor called it).....

Later, after the draining process is done and the freeze tube is handed over to the Lady's Court for later judgments for crimes against her, things happen.

Reports come in after the Doctor has left that things are falling . . . apart back in Aylse despite everyone's efforts back there. The very LAND was rearranging itself . . . One frustrated wit, having heard the Core Earth story called "Alice in Wonderland", quips that maybe they should rename their world "Alyse" (pronounced "Alice") in a nod and grin to Mr. Carrol's works. How could it be known that it would become so?

And while this is happening, a freeze tube is stolen away by one entity in need of data and quick!

The stasis spell had long faded, so the revival process went without a hitch. The ugly looking figure groggily looks up and asks (despite how inane it sounds): "Who are you?"

  1. "Smith," the man says softly and slowly, a trace of menace within. "Agent Smith."
