Scorpius....

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 22713

Betty

When it happens, I must admit my mind was on other things than the possibility that we'd have some kind of "flashback" to the script!

Sigh.

Hey, I guess I could be forgiven for it.

So help me, having to actually explain to the others about why Zhaan was....er.....

Nevermind....

Normally wouldn’t have been so out of sorts, but to have to do it while those from the Whoniverse were looking at me with such shock!...

That and the fact that Sigin (poor guy!) had seemed to overestimate the reserves he had left over from that mage fight I feel gives me a damn good excuse for not thinking that what happens next could happen next! Despite the fact that it was in the script for .....right at the end!

It happens just as I and the others have gotten over to the place where Zhaan lay, groaning with a combination of pleasure and.....anxiety. She keeps on muttering, between groans of delight, something about a space probe or some such...and how it'd bored into her mind and made her reach out to contact an Ace or something...

That one makes the person in question look at the others with a questioning look, let me tell you! Made me wonder, myself, but I get a gut feeling that mayhap beyond those muttered words is a key to one mystery (among the many we still have here).

Zhaan, however, is still too out of it to notice us....just to start to laugh a little in delight and pleasure as the radiation has it's way with her.

I look over at Stark, who's staring raptly down at Zhaan. Being the way I am, this leads inevitably to me thinking of the obvious joke about why she and Stark (aka the man with the glow-in-the-dark face) were so perfect for each other, but I, of course, would never be so crude as to make it.

Glad that Stark's attentin is so riveted on Zhaan, anyway. I am rather sure he'd not appreciate the punchline....

And that is just about the time when....

...when what I saw in Scene 8 of Farscape's The Hidden Memory takes place here....and now.

Somehow (don't ask me how that leather bound freak managed it) Scorpius has gotten not only to this moon's surface, but to this very place while we were more worried about helping Zhaan. Scorpius not only catches Crichton by surprise, but all of us, really.

He even pulls a gun on us! Acting like.....we others don't matter and that on he's going to have the one thing he's come for!

"No, Crichton." he says in that utterly charming way of his, "You're not going with them."

He goes on, saying something about wanting that wormhole data within John's head AND wanting to pay him back for what has been done to his Aurora chair.

Then, much to my horror, Gilina appears on the path, holding a gun. She, seeing that Zhaan was well enough in hand, had drifted over to the wreckage of the ship. Frankly, she was amazed at how much damage had been done to it and the miracle that Zhaan hadn't even been scratched! That is why she had been able to get something of a drop on ol' Scorpy. . . .

But she is not a warior type, but a tech. Meaning....

This is too WEIRD for words . . . . despite all I've faced before. A thrill of horror courses through me....

Oh please not this! I break out of my trance, beginning to mutter an appropriate spell that'll freeze Scorpy in his track. God, but I don't know if I will be in time!!

The scene still plays itself out as Crichton laughs.

"Shoot him," Critchon nearly screams, "Gilina. Shoot him!"

She's not the type, though. She does NOT have it within her for being instantly being able to shoot another. She's not the warrior type, you see. She hesitates.

Ah, but I fear that Scorpius (while not exactly a warrior) does have it within him to do that! Point in fact, that's why he's able to....

NEARLY....

....fire and hit Gilina. Crichton would then have been able to, while Scorpius was turned still, plow into Scorpius after firing and hiting Gilina. Crichton would have overpowered him to a point enough to where -- Scorpius flees.

That's what almost happens.

Somehow.... Don't ask me how, both the Brigadier AND the elves managed to blindside Scorpy! They plow into him, causing his first shot to nearly clip Gilina and the second (wild). In typical Whovian fashion (perhaps something to do with the crossover) a rock behind Gilina it hit by the second blast and explodes. A fragment hit the PK tech girl behind the ear and she goes down, pole-axed!

Crap! With the others all together like that I can’t very well cast the spell I’d been planning! Might freeze the wrong guy in place and that would be just perfect! So, I have to start....all.....over...again! Can’t exactly rush in and do the “hand to hand” thing. Never....learned, despite offers from both Sigin and the Doctor....

Sigh...

Now, while Scorpy is able to overpower his attackers and even able to begin to bring his weapon to bear--all the while somehow shrugging off that Klingon dagger (her favorite melee weapon of choice) that B'Elanna managed to stick him with....

Scorpy was, as I recall, rather stronger than the average human (or Sebacean). A bit angered at the rough treatment, he gets even rougher treatment from the still able opponents, especially from the Brig!

Guy empties his clip into the rather now surprised Scorpius, who looks almost insulted that such a....primitive weapon is being used against him! Then...it is almost comedy when his expression slips from insulted to....something that very much shows that he’s feeling that pain! He drops his energy weapon and tries to hold in the spots he got shot in, trying to stop the flow of blood that’s leaking out now!

Somehow, much to the Brig’s surprise, the villian manages to still stay on his feet and....run off somewhere away from us AND some other people who are NOT PK forces or those from John’s group back on Moya!

“Gilina!” John screams, rushing over and scooping up the still unconscious PK tech girl.

We made a mad dash (John carrying Gilina all the while in his arms) into the TARDIS, and to safety before the invaders (who’ve I’ll bet have now somehow managed to overrun and take control of the PK base) get to where we are.

Maybe those invaders had been after Scorpy and was lead to him by us.

Maybe it was somehow Zhaan’s ship crashing that brought them at such an unfortunate time.

Maybe something else.

However, I know a few things right now that is just making my day!

Fact: by the way John is looking over Gilina (and now laughing almost hysterically to find her alive)....tells me that his love life has just gotten....more difficult....

Three ways can be such a messy affair....especially when two sides still haven’t figured out for themselves the way things should be, eh? I speak, of course, about what I know of his and Aeryn Sun’s relationship.

Fact: we now are facing an enemy with TV knowledge. Meaning a major advantage I and the others have had in the past has now gone down the toilet!

Fact: in typical Doctor fashion, we’re going to be slipping a bit back in time and land on the Leviathan ship....just about at the point where Zhaan appears to have taken leave of her senses and hopped down to the moon below. As a safety precaution, we’ve cast a general spell upon her to filter out (hopefully) whatever might have caused it. We DO hope it’s due to something outside and not something she decided on her own to do!

Fact: I know within my bones that Scorpius is going to not only survive that fight he had...but somehow (don’t ask me HOW) he’ll manage to get away and start hunting us down himself through space. It’s just the way this reality works, it seems....

Fact: In typical Farscapish fashion, we must now...in sometime in the near future....protect these High Lords from this clone...else there is going to be hell to pay!

Oh, did I mention the fact that we have a pregnant Leviathan ship to worry about that is going to be going into labor here soon? Meaning that she’ll not be able to Starburst?

Oversight on my part....

Sigh....

Got caught up in the heat of things...and besides that was happened before the time we are travel into happened!

  1. That...I guess I should have as we materialize the TARDIS in Pilot’s chamber, who’s been directing an operation to hook up Sun to Moya to filter out the poison within her....
