"Well, I think the next thing is…." The Doctor begins.
A Logopolitian rushes in and interrupts, clearly agitated about something.
Several blink in surprise, clearly starteled at such unusual behavior.
"Sir!" the man says to the Mentor, "A rather large ship has just appeared
above the us!"
The man points to a spot in the sky and Betty and Ragan say a
word that would never have been allowed the BBC censors.
The ship in the sky is probably the most widely recognized starship
known to man, no matter what universe you're from.
The design is classic and mirrors the 1960's show perfectly.
"The Enterprise?!" Betty whispers.
"And before the refit even," Ragan notes, hand to her forehead to move
a strand of red hair out of her eyes. "The round nacelles….and that means
no bloody letter behind NCC-1701!"
"Scotty's Enterprise!" B'ellana whispers in awe, looking up.
Several others look at her, and then remember that she was a Star
Fleet Engineer. It figures that she'd identify the ship with the Chief
Engineer…and not the Captain!
"But why are they here?" the Doctor finally asks.
Well, that's a story in and of it'self!
It happens that not all Stacy Jones on all worlds have lost their memories.
One in particualr, through a series of misadventures, became a prominent
figure in a universe where a space station called Babylon 5 resides…as
well as a misplaced starship called the Enterprise (that had been fallen
through a rift in space after attempting to travel through time by slingshooting
around a star). This Enterprise had eventually saved Stacy from an eerie
(and evil) race of beings called the Shadow…..
Well, the short of it is that the Enterprise, commanded by Kirk,
soon went out and kicked the Shadow's armada almost single handedly (something
about how only this ship had the ability to travel faster than light
instead of using jumpgates and such).
Kirk, looking for allies and a haven for his ship, worked a treaty between
the Federation (i.e. the Enterprise) and one Ambassador Londo Mollari of
the Centauri Republic (the details of which are covered in one of my plot
summaries called Babylon Trek 5….a combination of Babylon 5 and Star Trek:
TOS….both copyrighted to their respective creators).
Stacy became an amabassador of sorts to smooth out relations between
the outside world and the Enterprise (thankless job).
Then, after ten yearrs in this universe, Mr. Spock finds what he believes
is a way home.
Alas, he's a bit wrong, but they survive due to something that Stacy
is able to do (but the cost is high).
Here's what happened….
Taken from the Gav and Peloso's Interactive Story
And so you do.
And so it goes.
Kirk gets Londo to free the Narn world... and gets the poor planet
back into decent shape. This goes very far in settling the differences
between G'kar and Londo... so much so that G'kar, while not thrilled with
the role that Londo played while under the commander of the insane Emporer...
is in a good enough frame of mind to not want to actually skin Londo alive.
Eventually, their relationship settles down to something of a cool... but
nonhostile... working relationship.
You play a role as ambassador between the interests of the Enterprise,
and the rest of the galaxy at large (a long and thankless task). Finally,
however, after 10 years to the day... Spock is able to come up with a way
to... what he thought is HIS Federation universe.
However, it's not.
You see, you have already suspected it for quite some time, though
you never were able to find a way to prove it. Indeed, you never mentioned
it to others, for fear of being thought mad!
It's unpredictable, but from time to time secret desires and wishes
come true for you! Witness your timely rescue from Morden's clutches by
none other than the Enterprise itself!
So, with mixed feeling on this day upon hearing what Spock was going
to do, you make a wish. In your heart you know that it's 'tis foolish and
all, but then again... it's been fun watching the three way verbal sparring
matches between Londo, G'kar, and Kirk. It'd be a shame if they only went
home... after all this time... without a little SOMETHING interesting happening.
You then scold yourself, calling yourself selfish for desiring such.
But the wish has been made... and the damage has been done!
And what happens is that Spock made had a sound idea…but used several
wrong theores on how the multiuniverse works that didn't translate.
The only thing that saved the Enterprise is a mysterious signal that
drags the ship away from destruction in an entropy pool….and the mental
efforts of a brave woman.
Who'd be hailed as a hero…but won't be around to see it.

Stacy's
body is vaporized as the pricetage of the miracle she's able to pull off
comes due…..
