"Given the shocks of today that would take something," Elrondir mutters
as he comes over to the group.
Inquirer glances down at the elf and shares a second of mutual understanding.
Given the fact that Elrondir came from such a similar background as herself,
the AI turned elf knew of the same urban myths as she....and had also caught
the significance of some of what the now revived Gallifreyian Lord had
said. Both shared a mutual history, and thus had a common bond.
They turn back and listen.
So the one known as Fredrina D'Honaire tells her tale. First, she tells
them that Rule 1 had sent her here in part of a deal so that "services
could be rendered." She stated that she'd explain in full after she told
them this. Then she told of events that had unfolded after Inquirer had
taken her rather unexpected trip on the OUTSIDE of Dr. Who's TARDIS (re:
8683) (more than a few eyebrows of those who are listening in shoot toward
the ceiling on that).
Inquirer and the others know that the others have stopped their various
discussions amongst themselves for various reasons and are now listening
silently in. None of the adventurers minded. It took longer than what it
could have, but the adventurers for the most part just listened.
As it was, the adventurers were too interested in hearing about news
of what had been happening back on Terra Prime, so they listened quietly
to Fredrina. Fredrina told how the court mage of Aqualaria had attempted
to betray Queen and country (re: 8777) by enspelling the Queen to tell
all that the mage asked of her and then pass that information to the Orcs
(that brings a growl from some). She told how the treacherous mage had
been tricked and captured and now soon to be executed. (re: 9400, 9425,
9477, 9478) She told of the recent marriage of Fred 7 and Astra 7 (the
Fred and Astra present look at each other with an eloquent question, but
decide to hold it for the moment). Fredrina tells how the Orcen threat
had been neutralized when an apparent internal struggle within the had
lead to their breaking away...only to be partially lobotomized when an
previously unknown magical talent manifested itself when he had made a
passing quip, in PERFECT imitation of the Borg from Star Trek, that
".....resistance is futile." (re: 9850)
"Oh boy," Sigin says softly, and the other adventurers shiver in silent
agreement with him.
Several others express concern about how dangerous it was for such a
powerful talent to be left unbridled. Powerful it had to be to be able
to tap that Word of Power unintentionally (Author's Note: A Word of
Power is one of a rare and dangerous set of magical phrases on Terra
Prime and other parallel Terra's that are powerful mind control enchantments)!
Probe was a danger to himself and to others as long as he had no proper
magical training to prevent him from accidentally letting his magical talent
run wild and injure or kill himself or those around him! (re: 10229) While
it was obvious to those who'd garnered their magical knowledge from a by
dragon in magic that these orcs had to have been "prepped" (re: 8763) via
alchemical potion to be susceptible to this particular set of Words,
there were other things that an untrained potential mage of high enough
magical potential could say or do to endanger himself or others unwittingly.....
"Not to worry," Fredrina says in a calming manner, "he received proper
training and met out a bit of justice when he employed a similar technique
that Inquirer used on that ghostly Dr. Vincent Priceless (re: .
"Basically, Probe plundered the traitorous mage's mind of his magical
knowledge via a cybernetic connection," Fredrina explained, seeing the
confused looks of the others around her, "the mage had violated the sanctity
of Queen Astra la Post's mind when he'd enscrolled her to be an unwitting
spy (re: . Probe just did a bit of justice in to him what he'd done to
the Queen. It served a bit of justice AND it neutralized the danger of
Probe being untrained. And in the process he got something that amounted
to ten years worth of practicing magery......"
Inquirer nodded, surprised at turn of events, and let Fredrina continue.
Fredrina finished up by telling how a new batch of analogs and "otherworldly
Terrans" (re: 9547, 9566, 9571) had been captured by the rogue Orcs, attempted
to be used in a ploy to bargain with the Military they had mistakenly thought
was entering the Orc/Human war, and escaped and rescued by Probe and his
"family" (re: 9761, 9834, 9850, 9853).
"And I have to end up this tale with a list of new Champions to the
Rules and Agents," Fredrina finished, pulling out a sheet of paper.
Inquirer and the other Champions look at the long list and see this.

"Uh, aren't
the Other Offices going to be a bit....disturbed by having so many Champions
coming online like that?" Elrondir asks uneasily.
