Meanwhile, the Third Doctor has stumbled across Sarah Jane, and is
hauling her out of the spot that she stumbled into while stumbling around
in the fog. The Second Doctor is presently hitting the arm of a Cyberman
who's gotten a hold on the Brigadier to get the mechanical menace to let
go of the man. The Fifth Doctor is in his TARDIS, along with Tegan and
Turlough at his side. The Doctor is in a bad way, evident by the fact that
he'd nearly (literally) faded out of existence a few times just a few moments
ago. Turlough looks at the controls. "We've landed." He says calmly. Turlough
operates a switch and switches on the scanner, which shows a mist-swept,
rocky area, with a tower in the background. Cybermen are about. As also
are a Yeti or two and a few others that the Doctor has run across over
the centuries. In the Tower of Rassilon, a mysterious Time Lord who is
dead....but lingers on, stirs uneasily in unease as something is......well.....the
best way to describe it is giving off bad vibes. Things seem to be following
a mysterious pattern.....but seem at the same time to be dancing to a different
tune than what the dead Time Lord feels......should be happening. "The....Pattern
has changed!" the ghostly Time Lord whispers finally.
He can only await, a growing sense of unease in his still heart.
Meanwhile, one of the two parts of the apparent "Pattern" that isn't
following....
The Doctor who is an Eternal Champion, call him Dr. Who for convenience,
is shaking his head to drive off the last of the dizziness of....whatever
it was that just swallowed up his TARDIS. Between Inquiries rather bizarre
behavior, the shock that she apparently learned how to operate the door
mechanism of his TARDIS, and everything else it's rather forgivable for
him to be slow to responding to the rather oddly dressed man standing in
the doorway.....
The Fourth Doctor, having recovered somewhat from the unexpected trip,
had seen what he had thought was his TARDIS and had gone in-after helping
Romana up from the ground where she'd come to rest after being deposited
here- and had noticed several thing not quiet.....right when he'd entered
the TARDIS.
First, though similar in layout to his TARDIS, this other thing was
more along the lines of his old nemisis, the Master's TARDIS.....back when
he'd stolen that one vital control component to the evil Time Lord. Second,
he has no memory of ever meeting his prior regeneration in this place (wherever
this place is). Finally, a few of his apparent younger version's companions
seem.......odd. He has no memory of EVER picking up refugees from the Land
of Fiction......especially elves!
"Who are you?" Dr. Who asks finally, getting to his feet. "What are
you doing on my TARDIS?"
"I am the Doctor and this is my companion, Romana," the Fourth Doctor
says, puzzled, "What.....you should remember our prior meetings at least,
Doctor."
"Oh boy," Ragan mutters as she gets up and looks over at the worried
looking Betty, "I think something funny just happened....and it was bad."
"Doctor....I think someone attempted to use the Time Scoop on us...."
Romana says quietly, looking over at a game grid with several figures on
it.
There is a babble of questions until Inquirer, Ragan, and Betty wave
the crowd to silence.
-
"I believe
I have an explanation that will fit most of your questions .....but first
I think that Inquirer should start," Betty says. "I think she saw the same
episode: The Five Doctors, right?"
