On the Emperor's private warship, a majestic yet sinister (why is that rather appropriate?) purple affair with huge curving clawlike wing sticking out from the top, bottom, and one on each side, a birdlike beak on a long neck in front, and the Royal Crest painted on each wing, you GASP at the luxury. You thought you had seen decadence before, oh, boy, were you wrong. Evidently Cartagia HATES space travel so they made the ship as fancy as possible to take his mind off it. You are staring, wandering around lost, when you feel a hand on your arm. "This way", says the nervous little Minister Caldoni, and steers you into a hallway lit by crystal torches. He motions you to a door and pushes you in. How rude, you think. Inside are Londo Mollari and his assistant that you bumped into once (literally), Vir Cotto. A-ha. So the Minister is IN on this, you realise... "Welcome!" Londo interrupts your thoughts, which seems to be a Centauri talent. "You deserve to know our plans after all the stuff you've suffered from, through no fault of your own." So they start explaining them to you. In a nutshell, the Emperor has given the Island of Celini on Centauri Prime to the Shadows, one of the older races (and the ones Mr. Morden works for/with). Now, the Vorlons, the OTHER major powerful race, are blowing up ANY planet that has been touched by the Shadows, which means that unless the Shadow ships are removed SOON, Centauri Prime itself is in danger of being blown up! But Cartagia is refusing to remove them or defend the planet in any way, ON PURPOSE. He WANTS Centauri Prime to be blown up so that it can "commemorate his ascension into godhood!" This guy is even more nuts than you thought before, if such a thing is even POSSIBLE, you think. Definitely he HAS to die. But the Ambassador and his attaché are rather vague about the details of exactly HOW they are going to do it and when, after all they can't trust you completely. All you find out is that this trip to Narn, supposedly to show off the Emperor's power to a conquered race, is actually a ruse to get him out of the Royal Palace and into a strange land where he will be more vulnerable. Beyond that, they won't say any more. TIME PASSES The ship lands on Narn. You spill out the door into the dry, hot air and look at the red sky and realise you are now free, that if you act quickly you now have an entire new alien world to explore -- and to escape in! On the other hand, you would kind of like to see this plot through and see if there isn't any way you could HELP to kill Cartagia. But, one alien planet is the same as another to you... no matter WHERE you go, you're STILL stuck in the wrong time period with NO idea how to get back to the 20th century... What do you do?
