Probe finds what appears to be a clear and level area, and puts them
down.
He goes back and makes sure that his passengers, and smiles when he
sees that even the youngest of his passengers hardly felt the landing.
Indeed, the infants of Fred and Astra 3 are still snoring quietly away.
Turning, Probe catches his reflection in one of the numerous equipment
monitors that dot various parts of the shuttlecraft. He has to admit, he
still isn't comfortable dressed up like a local citizen of this world.
He was decked out in a green jerkin and brown pants, with a grey cloak
with hood to complete this costume.
Beyond the gem that pulsated in his forehead, Probe would have passed
for a local (albeit an extremely TALL local). A physical search would reveal
some rather exotic equipment hidden on his person (exotic and lethal) that
would denote his otherworldy nature. Stripping him naked of his clothing
would also reveal the same (as well as a magical examination). But to the
casual observer, Probe would appear human.
Probe, however, felt a twinge of discomfort when he looked at himself.
He would take a long time in getting used to wearing anything other than
his old military uniform….
Shrugging that off, he turns back to Fred and the other.
"I'll be back," Probe says in a heavy, Austrian accent.
"Go get 'em, Terminator!" Demifox Synizn chuckles, recognizing that
line from one of the recent "movies" he and the other dragons had watched
along with Inquirer.
"I'll tell you later," the demifox mage chuckles when Fred and Astra
look down at him in askance.
Probe chuckles a very human chuckle as he enters the rear of the shuttle,
and then ducks through a hatch into the lower portion of the the ship…..
Five minutes later, after the most basic of examination one could find
in the the simplest of Alliance Engine Tech Manuals…..
"Fu…argh," Probe mutters, biting off the curse he was about to make.
He wasn't going to dirty himself and the ears of the young ones in the
upper decks on account of . . . .a well meaning but sadly misguided Star
Fleet puke!
His Family had known that a person on the Voyager had been able to somehow patch into the Alliance computer systems through, up until now, unknown means. After much examination of the plundering of Voyager's data systems, Inquirer had even been able to find the key….signature of the perpetrators. Further examination by Probe himself had revealed, even to the livid Captain Sterndeck…..that Janeway and the others of the Voyager's command chain were unaware of the Solomon twins antics.
Probe walked back into the compartment that the other adventurer were
resting in. Fred and the others noted the rather blank look on Probe's
face. By their long association with the mechanical man…..they knew that
Probe had turned off his facial muscles again.
"Is…it that bad?" Astra 3 whispers, suddenly worried that they were
in serious trouble.
"No….actually it's rather mild," Probe says in a distant, calm voice.
"Amazingly mild, considering that the Voyager interfaced the fuel manifold
controls in such a manner that SHOULD have caused us to light up like a
firebomb the moment I had turned the shuttle over……"
