”Uh, Malachi,” Synzin says nervously, not knowing how exactly to say
this. “I’ve….kind of….grown to like being…..a demifox…..even with the…..recent
events.”
”Ah, say no more,” the dragoness says. “I got the same reasons for just
why you want to stay a demifox from Demifox Synizn. He told me and Dragon
Synizn on one occasion….and I know that it applies to you as well.” Tests
by Crystallic done by Inquirer during the session to bring the new analogs
“up to speed” had shown very similar Matrix signatures when compared to
that of Fred 3’s group. Basically, Fred 4’s group was a recent split off
of Fred 3’s universe.
They all had the same reason for staying demifox, including the fact
that if they EVER gained their dragon form again in their home universe,
their Council of Wyrms would send out a decree to kill them (for they’d
been ‘contaminated’ with human characteristics).
Both saw their new form as a symbol of their freedom from the baser
instincts of their old lycanthropic form (and thus had become somewhat
fond of being demifoxes). Both loved the feel of the wind through their
fur when in full fox or demifox form. Both had the same reasons for staying
demifoxes……
Except for going home.
Inquirer had been sad but firm when she said that the Alliance had the
means of getting Fred 3’s group home…..but not Fred 4’s group. Dr. Vincent,
tired though he was, had done some calculations….and concluded that his
apparatis back home also could not get them home (it had never been designed
to teleport living material….and he’d only been using it to get ready to
teleport a message and gift when the ghostly Dr. Vincent had yanked him
into Terra Prime.
That had indeed been a bitter thing to hear, but not unexpected.
”I thank God that we at least are able to regain our human forms!” Fred
4 had said while hugging his wife. “No offense to the other nonhumans,
but Astra….4 and I’d rather be our old selves!”
That done, the conversation drifted to various things like: why Malachi
Dronocis looked so….rested while the other mages looked dead tired (Malachi
explains her link to the land renewed her strength quickly….and so she
need never rest), what was up with the latest news delivered by Belboz
(worrisome, but with the defense glyphes in place the mages and others
should be safe until they decided to go out into the world to finish up
what they’d started), and about certain Alliance members…..

tired (heh!) Rosepaw is trotting into the visitor’s bathing area when…..she
sees Inquirer bathing herself.
