Battle and Vision

"God so very much has a sense of humor, sometimes." Synizn sighs, shaking his head.

As it turns out, the name coincidence is only that, coincidence. Still, the bloody battle is fierce enough to satisfy, even without the extra motivations doppleganger hatred can give a body, okay?

But in the end the dragon got what he wanted, in a way. While he'd been betting that IF the Champions and the now ruined Belboz got here, that they'd hesitate. Hesitate enough to where he'd been able to defeat them? After all, he is (or was) this wonderful paladin that Belboz wanted back on the throne...

Well, nope. No hesitation at least on the Champions part. Didn't know him and didn't CARE to know him. Was an obstacle, amongst other things. That and a menace.

Vermin to be exterminated.

Cuthbert did the honors. The bullet wouldn't have been effective much anywhere else (was simple lead), but a bullet through the eye will rattle around the braincase, scrambling the brain beyond redemption.....

Better this way than close combat. The blood curse wouldn't have effected them, but if some should get on Belboz?

Man was annoying enough as it was. Didn't need him turning into an even bigger annoyance: yet another evil dragon....

And thus and thus...

And of course, that's when the Vision (the Touch it's known back on Cuthbert's homeland/world) strikes...

1. Too far away for him and other heroes to do anything about AND too far away for Flagg to detect the Champions (and act appropriately)....
