The ranger is a brave woman. (She would never have joined the
Aqualarian rangers otherwise.) But it is clear to her that, in the
hackneyed phrase, resistance would be futile. Besides, it's not as if she
and her fellow rangers have had much success in pinpointing Astra's
location. So she tells the sorceress (for such the ranger assumes her to
be, having no idea that she is also a dragoness) everything she knows
about Astra and about where she might be. It doesn't occur to her to
mention the rangers' encounter with that strange group of travelers not so
long ago, as it hardly seems relevant.
Moreau frowns. She had hoped for better information than this about Astra's whereabouts. Has the ranger told her everything that she knows, or has she been holding something back?
